Its been updated to 1.6 and should work fine, though I didnt extensively test it under every situation. If theres any oddities/red in the console please let me know

@BladeofSharpness Always have support within 7 tiles of a roof. If you dig a tunnel and make sure to keep walls on either side of a tunnel, you can make it as long as you want as long as its width never goes above 13 (Since that will ensure theres always support, assuming randy doesnt get quirky)

Actually implimenting what you want isnt too hard in theory - just have the game check some conditions everytime you set something to mine - I just dont have the technical skills for it yet. Soon though, I hope. Although now that Im talking about it, the mod "Smarter Deconstruction and Mining (Continued)" will do what youre hoping for, among other things. If you dont mind adding another mod it can at the very least hold you over, if not outright do better

which is? No empty space further than 7 squares from a support?

@BladeofSharpness Ill add it to the list of things I wanna add, however it might take abit since that sounds like it needs C# and Im still teaching myself that language. For now Id suggest using the rule of 7
