We are planning on nerfing their HP a bit. We found that heavies could shred them so fast that we overcompensated some. We might just make miniguns deal a little less damage to them and drop their health a bunch to make up for it.

This is great! Although the rats have way too much HP. It took 3 full Shortstop clips to kill just 1, and when they all gang up on you, it's rather hard to escape.

I really like the theme of this map (always been a sucker for city theme maps). I also really like the Rats, the noises they make are both funny and creepy and fit really well within the crazy world of TF2. something I'm sure I'm not the only one to notice but the rats seem to get stuck on each other (though this may just be the case due to me exploring the map on my own and would be fixed with more players). overall a really great map and would love to see added this year (valve please!). :steamthumbsup:

I don't want to sound too nit-picky here because it's clear a lot of love went into the map as usual and it's nice, I love the overall urban city feel and especially the train that passes over at the top of the map, but are we just gonna have some monster of the week each year now? The Salmann were a highlight for Slime in last years Scream Fortress, but it seems like ever since then, many creators have tried to replicate that idea, even if the idea of monsters roaming the map existed years before Slime.

We've had Skeletons, Ghosts, Scarecrows, Mobster Skeletons, The Salmann as previously said, and now...Rat-Men, on top of the bosses.

Honestly I just think the map would be great without the gimmick of monster NPCs wandering around, but that's just my opinion.

Updated to B3:
Rats now have sound effects!
Added temporary sound effect to indicate rats spawning on capture
Added Halloween mode to the map
Added one way transparency to the windows on the shelter over the stairs on either side of the point, benefiting attackers going to the point
Added more rat spawns, 6 now spawn per capture
Rats now drop small health packs on death
Added a little more detailing (including some new vehicles outside of the map)
Fixed a number of small visual issues, added missing health pack markers
Slightly adjusted health packs
Added some nobuilds in a few places that could cause teleporter traps (thanks Midnite)
LODs added to Rats

Known issue: The Rats can still get stuck on each other at times, especially with lower server populations (targeting the same person)
Rats still have their hands clip through the shields a bit, we'll get there eventually, I promise.

Look, I can excuse tumor bread monsters, money-powered robot invasions, bomb throwing immortal wizards, and even a race of superhuman Australians in TF2. But a map with rats in it is where I draw the line. Could you at least try to be realistic with what you add? I swear, these wacky mechanics are going to kill any semblance of realistic theming in TF2…

I cant believe you'd add rats to tf2, vscript is not only going over the speed limit in school zones but it also pushed my grandma down the stairs, idk if i can keep supporting you :(
