The mod isn't about making the battles necessarily harder, but more varied given different army compositions. If you want a challenge I suggest trying Immersive Battle Camera .
Is this your experience as well (as the maker and main tester of the mod)?

Just a question here, does this make these two incompatible or they are still good to go together/this make AI ARMY FORMATION redundant?
If you wish you can port it it's quite simple, and I don't know if they changed anything in the table but if it's the same you can perhaps transfer it there manually, or send me Warhammer 3 table i'll have a look, it's called "ai_usage_groups".
Please forgive me for being that guy but ... would you port this mod to Warhammer 3 ? I think the community would love it.
Try it, if enemy formations change and they flank with more unit types then it works.
