kara9 yes if you shoot a npc with the shimmer gun it shimmers them, some times you have to shoot them more then once to get them to shimmer

while the devs probably don't care, I personally think it's kind of distasteful, you can make any mod you want and they let you do anything you want, and then you backport stuff from a future update
