I propose introducing a new trait for every infantry unit called "Infantry/Squad." Its description is as follows:
"This unit is a tactical formation consisting of several soldiers who can effectively hide from fire in folds in the terrain, trees, and buildings. However, the squad is linked by a communication and command system, forcing them to stick together. The more soldiers in the squad, the greater the chance that one of them will be hit by fire."
And in italics is the description of the mechanics: the fewer soldiers, the greater the damage protection.
My writing is very crude. But you get the idea. You should a) definitely show this mechanic in the interface. b) present it in a more logical way – damage increases because there are more people in the squad.

Hi, Laterus. You're so cool. And your mod is so cool. Thank you so much. I haven't played it much, but I loved every minute. I really respect your approach to game design and how you're smoothing out the rough edges left by eugens. For example, those hidden attributes that reduced damage to transport vehicles and infantry. I have a lot of suggestions I'd like to share.

1) What I consider very important. Regarding your "Infantry Armor" system. I understood everything you explained, but I disagree with its implementation. Firstly, it's illogical. Because the squad is smaller, they don't equip additional armor. Secondly, it's a hidden mechanic that's impossible to learn about without reading this post.

I will definitely fix AG in the relaunch/end-of-beta of the gameplay mod. My focus has been on developing a discord bot to support the multiplayer community of the mod, so the actual mod development has been on the back burner.

My philosophy regarding single player, is that it I actually consider it to be an important component of making the multiplayer community successful. Playing the mod in AG or Skirmish vs. AI is what will introduce a lot of people to the mod, and provides a constant source of new players. So I plan on investing a lot of effort into improving AG and A.I. skirmish.

Right now its looking like it will take me at least until mid November to finish the bot, at which point it will be full speed ahead on the mod development. I have already developed some very good modding tools for the gameplay, probably the most efficient modding tools outside of what large Chinese modding teams have done. So I would not be surprised if I could relaunch the gameplay mod by Christmas

yeah I agree it is inconsistent, I'll iron that out in the long run. I just needed a way to make those kinds of cheap towed AA guns dirt cheap so I could justify increasing helicopter availability and the overall firepower of helicopters.

To be fair I should probably have added a trait with a tooltip that explains it. The idea is that these types of units will retain a lot of firepower and cheap price, but completely incapable of being used offensively.

the light AA guns in logistics tab have 18 second aim times, which is practically an eternity, i can only assume its not intentional

Thats odd I don't see any issues with income. Standard income is +21 every 6 seconds, i.e. 210/minute. Does it show +0 at the top for you, or is the income tick not working?

Income is bugged for me, 5 minutes in a skirmish and no income was added? How is the income supposed to work?

I released a hotfox for the crash caused by certain command infantry depictions being configured incorrectly. There are also a few other changes which you can see in the patch notes which are stickied in the discussion forum.

Thanks for the words of support. FYI just for everyone playing, the leader units currently have the command unit icon because Eugen changed the way the icon is chosen which I didn't notice before releasing the update. It doesn't mean they can capture zones, so it doesn't effect gameplay, it can just be confusing if you're not aware.

Compatibility patch is finally out, I will try to at least maintain compatibility with the latest vanilla WARNO patches again. But I've also done a lot of work on my modding scripts so later this year I will begin fast progress on new divs and other content. Still quite busy IRL so thats a few months away at least.

Sorry guys I had massive burnout from development and had to take a break. I will try to update but I am also more busy IRL for at least the summer, so I can't promise big content updates. My intention is continue major work on the mod between August-December, and hopefully finish the mod by December (all divisions).

@Deadliset_Warrior That is intentional design, you're not supposed to be able to sell supply vehicles in the mod.

Hello, I would like to ask you about updating the 157th motorized rifle division of the USSR, since in my opinion it is deliberately weakened and has little in common with its prototype from real life in terms of small arms, tank and armored transport weapons, maybe I'm wrong, but I still don't care that this division is so weak, although it was part of the main southern troops of the USSR and had good weapons as of 1989.

FYI, I forgot to change the damage family on the MiG-21bis S24 rockets, they are still on the `roquette_ap` damage which means they do a lot more damage to armor than intended right now (they will one shot an Abrams from full HP). I am mostly trying to move away from Eugen's :schizotroll: style of every conceivable source of HE damage having its own unique hidden damage ratios, but during this process I might make an error sometimes. I suggest making a gentlemen's agreement to not use these planes in your multiplayer games.

Yes unfortunately improving the A.I. would be huge time investment, but its definitely something I want to do in the long run. But maybe I am overestimating how difficult it would be, so I will try to dig into some day soon, just to see what's possible and if there is any "low hanging fruit" in regards to improvements.

The sound FX on the French and German 20mm autocannons are a bit overwhelming, but I found a good solution. I will push a 'hotfix" tomorrow.

thanks if I have time I will try to fix the mod to work in AG, but no promises any time soon. In the very long term when all the divisions are released, I do plan on overhauling the single-player and adapting it to the mod.

not intended for AG I know but for first missions Allied side "BRUDERKIEG" 3-11th Armored Cavalry Regiment has no units that can capture points.

After some testing I found the issue with the polish RKT plane, is probably common to a lot of planes. Some buildings block line-of-sight which prevents the rockets from firing.

But I tested this in vanilla and the same problem exists, I'll try to see if I can tune the ranges and altitudes to alleviate this issue.

I'll look into the Polish rocket plane issue, as far as balance concerns I would need to see a replay for feedback on this topic to be useful. Not to judge your play or be dismissive, but its virtually impossible to understand this kind of feedback without observing a replay.

RTK Poland airplanes doesn't work correct. I use fire on the mark (button T) and pilot not firing on this position. and you can buy all Tanks from 80 points and commander with small recon and end this game at 10 mintutes vs 9 American tank brigade becase you also can spam your AA airplanes on respawn point and F16 losing this pvp . . .

Also consider using the mechanized supply, like MTLB-snab, if you want more quantity. Basically the mod is designed around taking FOB and 3 cards of supply, and refilling your supply vehicles. I know its not the most fun task to do this, but having supply lines that you need to defend is important to introduce more dynamic gameplay and strategy.

Of course, if there is something I am missing then feel free to post in the steam forum for the mod, and we can discuss the subject more.

Maybe there is something I'm missing, but if take 3 cards of supply + FOB that should be plenty? Logistics slots are very low AP cost in the mod, don't build your deck like vanilla and only take 2 cards of logistics.

btw I am working on updating the mod, but instead of just forcing a compatibility patch, I'm going to wait until I have Poland's 20 Panc division ready for release. If you want to play in the meantime, you can load the public compatibility patch for mods by right clicking WARNO in steam -> properties -> betas. Eugen created this so people can continue to play mods without the developer having to fix it right away.

:steamhappy: It's all part of one big cohesive picture. Yes planes will be lethal, but recon and infantry is also priced accordingly. I'm also planning on a new trait for smaller recon squads, that will give them a movement speed boost when out of combat. Getting recon in position is quite tedious compared to Wargame, where infantry had hidden speed modifiers that made them a lot faster.

It was pretty late when I was playing but I want to say.. The Fab's strike fear into infantry again and it is beautiful. Except when it happens to me. Those scouts did nothing wrong. Is it wrong to SEE? FIX IT!

I just noticed the supply vehicle point costs are not updated to the mod standard, I'll make sure to have that fix next patch. I should have a polish division ready to be added as well, and an update to laser guided bombs.

Version 19 is out, fixed the LDR unit capping zones (not intentional change), and many other issues. Also this patch is dedicated to all the F-111 fans out there :steamhappy:

Also found a crash from eskortniy gunship and fixed it, uploading 18.2 hotfix now. Hopefully no more serious problems?? *crosses fingers**

I also realized the stealth change to forests might not make as much sense as I initially though. We can try it out for this patch, but I'm still deliberating over what the actual problem is in WARNO, in regards to the feeling of cover feeling "weak".
