I cant turn it off for some reason (the smoothness itself, not the mod)

This kind of breaks the game, even after uninstalling it the camera is floaty and after trying to reinstall it and set floatiness to 0 it still remains the same

Very nice, I've been looking for a smooth camera like this for a while. Great addon

@Gmodism Simply use an addon or external tool which inverts your mouse Y axis input
Gmodism 13. nov. 2024 kl. 14:04
Huh, this is a really cool mod, if only it supported the right way to play games: inverted Y axis...

@Smokkerino That's why I told you there is no such thing within this addon itself. If you absolutely require that, you can extract the gma, modify the lua accordingly, and put it on your server. Please give credit if you do that.
Smokkerino 25. sep. 2024 kl. 10:56
I was thinking more of an hardcoded lua that apply the effects and runs only in my server, but that would require to edit completely your addon.
TiberiumFusion  [ophavsmand] 25. sep. 2024 kl. 9:57
@Smokkerino Not within this addon itself. This addon is exclusively client-side code. However, everything in this addon is controlled by (clientside) cvars, including enabling/disabling it and the various options. You could write a small addon which enforces certain values for these cvars clientside, to make it always enabled and have the same options. This is a slippery slope, however, and it's a violation of a user's right to their chosen preferences, since any changes you make to their cvars will persist and affect other servers they join, unless you are very careful about backing up their cvars and restoring them when they leave your server.
Smokkerino 25. sep. 2024 kl. 6:24
Any ways for server admins to enforce this to be always active?

I did jump to AutoHotKey as my first idea, gotta figure things out first, but it seems doable maybe.
To anyone else who's interested, do try and make an AHK script, maybe you'll manage to do something fun.

Thanks Fusion!
TiberiumFusion  [ophavsmand] 3. maj 2024 kl. 11:58
Yeah. I've never seen any program that does that either. But that doesn't mean it does not exist. There are tools that automate input to HID devices, like Auto Hotkey, which can be programmed by scripts and the like. Maybe try searching in places like that.
ServantCrow 3. maj 2024 kl. 6:31
I'd be in the same boat as Rat lol, have been looking for something like that.
Rat'O'Tim 3. maj 2024 kl. 6:05
the problem is that i cant find a program that does this :steamsad:
TiberiumFusion  [ophavsmand] 23. apr. 2024 kl. 7:19
@Rat'O'Tim That is possible, by way of any program which affects the movement of your mouse while you are on your desktop. Windows has a mouse filter built-in called "Enhance pointer precision" which is an example of this (reducing mouse speed when you are trying to click on small things by moving the mouse slowly). However, many games have an option they usually call "raw input" which bypasses all forms of mouse filtering and directly queries the exact movement of the HID device providing the mouse movement. So, to achieve your goal, you will need to search for a program that provides the filter you want, and then play only games that do not query so-called "raw input" (or allow disabling of that) and instead ask for the filtered mouse input as used by the desktop.
Rat'O'Tim 23. apr. 2024 kl. 6:31
do you have any idea if its possible to apply this effect to all mouse input? a lot of games dont have camera smoothing like this and i cannot find a program for it
i also dont know anything about coding :p
TiberiumFusion  [ophavsmand] 11. apr. 2024 kl. 0:12
@yeaough Thanks for the report. I've fixed that in an update released just now. There are two new options under the Advanced expander to disable the fix if needed.
yeaough 10. apr. 2024 kl. 20:45
I'm pretty sure this addon causes a little movement stutter if you look straight down abruptly while moving forward. It's not much of a problem, but I thought I'd point it out. Anyways, love the addon, thanks!!
PepsiDoggo 30. mar. 2024 kl. 22:27
This is especially useful for what I do! Recording scenes in train-build requires keeping focus on especially fast moving targets and this helps smooth out most of the jank

Kudos!

Callsign_Ewok 29. feb. 2024 kl. 18:50
Ouu you know what this sounds right up my alley for my first realism video ideas and my gameplay modset collection I'll be working on putting together.

@Classic Sonic You can type thirdperson in console or use Simple Third Person to achieve that
sonic hedgehog 29. feb. 2024 kl. 12:45
i have a question: Can you make a minecraft third person mod? i think it would be funny :) :GDNormal::GDNormal::GDNormal::GDNormal:

Silly Gaming 28. feb. 2024 kl. 12:46
Somehow bring this to L4D2 through the use of coding magic?
N0VA 28. feb. 2024 kl. 7:40
This makes the game feel so smooth and fun.
I really like using it on a slightly lower setting for FPS maps.
