this mod is too simple for me.
first theres no any sort of mutation and that 100% of all traits must be passed down (I think?), which is unrelaistic so im nto downloading this

so is it possible to make saved traits to race's different? like elves one set of traits and orcs another?

Can you make it so that only people in clans get the traits without manually editing them in? Like, you give the original person in the clan Super Health and then everyone else who is a part of the clan gets it?

I figured as much, KeyGUI unlocked what feels like 'full Dev' mode with a feature that lets you cause new pawns of Clans to spawn with specified traits. From there, regular pawn breeding could take over. It also has a 'trait eraser' built in.

That said, I found a race/building compatibility mod on game banana that's up to date and works, so I don't NEED KeyGUI to make mods like Diversity Crate work properly, but... it's just too good with everything it has. The only thing that'd beat it for me would be the trait selective spawn chance for a given race (0-100% chance race X will spawn with trait Y henceforth in that world). I've seen such a mod on banana as well, but it's obsolete and any continuations have been taken private.

Depending on the cost and learning curve, I may just get into making some mods for this myself. Maybe fix some existing ones. Got any suggestions to that end?

@Raziel Ryuki this mod doesnt work with most mods that change how units are spawned from parents because usually they completely overwrite the original code which then overwrites any code that I add no matter where it is loaded. It is unfortunate but because of how this mod works and how people make theirs its very finicky with compatibility, as for the Elf traits I will look into that as soon as I can, the version on game banana I believe wont have this issue but I will also have to check that

Confirmed, KeyGUI makes this mod fail to load properly. Unfortunately, it would appear something about the KeyGUI mod stabilizes new races such as those added by Diversity Crate (They stop self-destructing and build properly).

Right now, it's an either/or with the arrangement of these mods. Of note, KeyGUI does have some means of propagating specific traits through Clans and such.

So I added this mod to my list and it seemed to work without issue before (Loaded fine anyway), but after adding another mod or two (V+ potentially or other race adding mods), it seems to fail loading every time, whether other mods are active or not. Disable NML and it re-enables itself. KeyGUI doesn't seem to care if I disable it or not, its interface and functions are still present and working. Everything else is disabled, but this mod fails to load - specifically when I go in to select traits for certain races, the trait selection screen appears fine, but clicking on the Elf to select the race shows "Under Development" and "not_found" at the top, suggesting it isn't able to populate the races in the game for some reason. Existing or modded.

is there a dumbed down version cause I get its easy but overtime everyones gonna have the same traits so is there any way you could uhh make the ones you inherit common sense
like lets say your parents have the immortality trait you should inherrit that not the strong trait but thats just my opinion

Can you add sliders to adjust the chance of traits being inherited, I don't just mean the traits you select in the advanced genetics thing, but just traits the parents have,
I have an idea of essentially creating different groups of the same species that have different traits and I think it would fit perfectly in this mod.

@CoolRexxed, nml its on github though, so im not sure what the issue with nml is, as it wont be supported in the future and wont work eventually

Great start, I am excited to see the future this mod holds. The main thing that I would find most useful is to be able to assign the inherited traits to a certain group(ex = a kingdom or clan)

I had one other mod installed when I tried using this, and the traits weren't being inherited. I just disabled it and this worked perfectly.

for steam subscriptions they arent saved in the same place as you would from downloading online, theres a button in NML to take you to the mods file location which should get you there
