No problem man, honestly long overdue.
Is it actually not working anymore or did you assume it would need an update for v42? I can't test myself because I haven't updated yet because I know better XD If it isn't working after updating it may need to simply be reinstalled, there's a good chance the ZomboidSound.bank file was replaced from updating
Ahh, that may be it, just updated the mod btw
Actually bud, I did think of one other possibility, are your zombies set to shamblers? All my testing is done on shambler speed and I recommend to use that speed as that's the one the mod is built around because that's the general speed of RE zombies. While the other speeds SHOULD work, I did replace the files for them, I haven't tested them thoroughly in game and they weren't the focus of the mod
Sorry to say you must be mistaken or something strange is happening on your end, I always test before updating and just tested it again after seeing your comment and all was ok. It would be virtually impossible to accidentally swap the male and female voices as doing so would mean extracting and renaming all the male file names to the female ones and vice versa than repacking the bank file, I didn't even touch the names on the update, just adjusted the volume. Sorry, I have no idea what's going on :(
That game is still the high water mark in the series to me, and I'm sure you'd get some great material for this mod from it.
One zombie sounds like 7 due to the voice lines being picked at random, repeating in rapid succession nearly.
Understandable that the original RE games didnt have tons of variation, but I cant use this mod with the way it currently is.
If your looking for decent free software Audacity is pretty good and is open source and there are plenty of YouTube tutorials to help you out. For paid software I would say do some research on what you want out of it and choose based on that and affordability.
I didn't modify the original sounds, if you have a suggested program to use I'd be happy to give it a look at some point. Was gonna look into trying to equalize the volume on some of them.
I used PSound to extract the sound files from the RE games, then used FMOD Bank Tools V1.4 to extract and rebuild the .bank files. You can find more in depth info online pretty easily
Read the install directions more carefully, your zomboid mod folder has nothing to do with the install process
