I personally have never seen definite proof that an AI level does or does not exist, but from my experience it at least FEELS like there are differences in the quality of my AI pilots aside from just the weapons/defense skill levels.

AFAIK, the dev's have never clearly stated YOUR pilots do not have different ai "levels". The thread you linked also does not support your argument - there is talk about "hidden attributes" (what is even meant with that?), but it mostly revolves around the assignment of "combat roles" which result in different AI behavior (which is something not related to this mod, see the guide linked in the description).

So it is down to interpretation if the mentioned "hidden attributes" include an AI level. If the linked guide is correct, the AI level is technically not "hidden" - it is just represented by a descriptive text which you can read ingame (but you would need extra knowledge to understand that some pilots are just better because their text is different - so therefore it is kind of hidden? obscured?).

This mod is NOT needed. The dev's have clearly stated YOUR pilots do not have different ai "levels". They are just for NPC pilots so the game knows which pilots to match with different enemy mechs and how to control them.
The different ranks your pilots have (lieutenant, major, captain) mean nothing either, they are just for "flavor"/ rp purposes.

Hello, thank you, this is useful mod. Btw there is typo in Veteran (yedunboy noted this first)

nevermind it showed up after awhile, you are correct. I made the mistake of being in an industrial area first, had to jump away to a new system

It only works on new pilots if you add it mid campaign.

dosen't seem to work mid campaign

@Bullwinkle near as I can figure out, 330s Pilot Overhaul doesn't touch this issue, Quality ratings from that mod refer to their max ratio of good and bad quirks added by that mod. So I think the ideal pilot is x/60, Elite in PO, and shows Elite AI from this mod.

Works with DLC up to this point. Only for pilots that you are going to buy. Not for ones you already own before installing this mod. Once you have bought them it still show what grade they are forever though. Thanks for this Mod.:cozybethesda:

Any idea of Pilot Overhaul overrides the text method of determining pilot AI? I'm getting conflicting labels where the biographical text ways "Novice AI" where Pilot Overhaul is labeling them as "Elite" in it's UI.

there is a typo in "Veteran AI" - reads as "Vetern AI". Can this be fixed?

I didn't even know lancemate AI levels was a thing, and that the stats were the only depth to it. Thanks this is helpful. It doesn't work with the pilots you start with in a new career, but it's pretty safe to assume they're all novices.

Doesn't seem to work for me

Can I use this as a host without the other players in Co-op having to have it?

@tjmtjm Try flying between industrial hubs for a bit. It took a while for me but now I can see the AI skill level when looking at potential recruits...but not for any pilots you have already hired.

does not work for me? any suggestions
