what do i need to change in order to modify the value from -125?
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 10. nov. kl. 12:10
@Jet yes it works both for AI and Player. You'll see some regions who invest in cultural acceptance or befriending other faiths marry rarely.
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 10. nov. kl. 7:19
Updated should work with the latest update. Thanks for the wait. It may have issues with other mods that effects marraige files.
Jet 4. juli kl. 13:17
does the ai make cross marriages
@HaziTru we are waiting for an update like Hachiko)
Innead 30. juni kl. 13:22
Update soon?
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 19. maj kl. 12:51
Yes I'll be updating soon I'm busy with work and school at the moment
DeadLy38 19. maj kl. 9:21
Like the mod. Can it be fixed?
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 15. maj kl. 19:10
This mod recently broke all marriages after the most recent update last week.. it worked fine before.
of course this mod breaks all marriages, a smart person could not make such a mod, bringing closer non-historical outcomes and crazy marriages, which are often found in the late game
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 13. maj kl. 14:04
@Chicken_smuggler all marriages? Yes the new patch really screwed it up I thought it was just for nomads. Okay I'll fix it as soon as I can.
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 13. maj kl. 14:02
There's traditions, lifestyle perks and possibly other things you can do like befriending the person, giving them a artifacts, learning their language, gifting money and I believe having high Diplomacy makes the person like you more as well.

It can still be very difficult to interfaith marry with this mod which is what I wanted, but from testing it is possible in most situations. If your a count and try to marry a emperors daughter or some who hates you that's obviously not going to work no matter what it's going to be too many negative modifiers. I wanted it to be realistic.
Jet 13. maj kl. 10:46
"After testing i found that -125 is still restrictive but if you invest into culture or religious acceptance and other traits,:

wdym by investing into cultural or religious acceptance? i know theres one trad that gives +10 acceptance but is there more outside of legacies?
Chicken_Smuggler 12. maj kl. 2:00
Yup this mod currently breaks all marriages
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 7. maj kl. 10:32
It was fine, a update just came out today and must've broke it. I'll have to look at the code and try to fix it.
nizon 7. maj kl. 10:28
I'll add that you can't marry as a nomad, I haven't checked other governments
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 7. maj kl. 10:27
Okay I'll check out the code thanks
nizon 7. maj kl. 1:04
Hey, after the update it seems that it's not possible to marry anyone anymore, might be me issue or some mod incompatibility but everything worked fine before.
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 5. maj kl. 15:29
Updated to version 1.16

- cleaned up some code so the mod is more compatible
TheMuyu 15. dec. 2024 kl. 8:59
Is this working with latest updates?
Scribe of Nekoti 27. okt. 2024 kl. 13:39
Does anyone know if this causes issues or does it still work okay?
bandito 6. okt. 2024 kl. 16:09
Thank you for this mod, reading the comments is funny like no one ever did this one thing because our book says it! Like that has ever stopped some "bad" Muslims from having a drink or Christians from saying the lords name in vein. I'm sure interfaith was def frowned on, but to say it never happened is insane lmao
BonumMonstrum 11. sep. 2024 kl. 6:12
After some of the last updates some lines were added to the file "00_marriage_scripted_modifiers.txt". So please add the missing ones to your file (lines 2-7 and 1963 - 2016 :D:
Riaman 22. aug. 2024 kl. 11:04
@Angel that is BS, in India Mughals married hindu princesses, and had their female relatives marry Hindu rulers.
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 9. maj 2024 kl. 23:38
@Jet yes this affects the AI as well.
Jet 9. maj 2024 kl. 19:52
will this also affect the ai?
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 27. apr. 2024 kl. 4:51
Updated to 1.12 guys let me know how everything's working
alegdansk 27. apr. 2024 kl. 3:17
Please 🙏 can you create a mod to allow our daughters to marry mercenary commanders?
Thank you 🤗
Timou 7. mar. 2024 kl. 9:48
Update Please 1.12
Angel 18. feb. 2024 kl. 5:00
Historically, when a non Muslim man wanted to marry a Muslim woman, they would convert to Islam, not just get married, otherwise it would be considered illegitimate and can get into legal trouble and potential execution. If you want historicity, that's closer to reality.
On the other hand, the 4 wives was a more broken rule, since men can get unlimited slave partners, rulers often had much more than 4 partners, and hundreds of children. I feel that should be allowed in the game rather that strict 4.
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 22. jan. 2024 kl. 10:40
@AyJayAye Muslims and Christians aren't supposed to marry outside of their faiths but still did it at a decent rate back then. You can google it. That's why i created this mod. I totally get it if you don't agree, thats fine you don't have to use it but I'm sure many other people will find it useful.
AyJayAye 22. jan. 2024 kl. 7:34
1) Islam does not permit any Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim man.
2) Muslim men can only marry a Christian or Jewish woman IF she is believing and practicing, but there are times where it is not advised. The ideal marriage is between a Muslim man and a Muslim woman.
3) I don't where where the other faiths sit on this matter, so I only offer only the Islamic perspective. This sort of a mod and the claims you make regarding why you found the need to make it from our perspective is damaging and completely disregards the theological issues,
ttghost 16. dec. 2023 kl. 21:30
Thanks for creating this mod! I suggest to add modifier with Zealous and Cynical trait.
Gliese581 16. dec. 2023 kl. 0:30
@Avik_Ray Pretty sure that worked that way for any religion. Can't really see christians agreeing to a christian noblewoman randomly marrying a muslim, if the woman hold power in christian lands that is. To send someone away sure that's possible. Men holding the power and power passing through a patriarchal line means it's less of a problem if the bride adheres to a different faith.
Avik_Ray 15. dec. 2023 kl. 21:47
The missed idea is that Islam permits marrying women from the other Abrahamic faiths whereas it absolutely all the time restricted believing women to marry any heathen. Moreover, when Islam reached pagan lands the Quranic permission to take Jewish and Christian wives were broadened to accomodate pagan wives as well. The heathens naturally did not understand this parasitic system of taking women from other peoples to turn them into Muslims eventually and agreed to give out their women thinking it will build social ties. This is the reason you will almost never find Muslim princesses to marry Christian lords and kings.
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 15. dec. 2023 kl. 14:38
@Barry Fasif Great I'm glad it works. Thank you for reporting that.
Wise Chinese Uncle 15. dec. 2023 kl. 14:17
@HaziTru works flawlessly now. thank you!
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 15. dec. 2023 kl. 5:00
@Bassy Fasif I just made a update so its not easily overwritten, check to see if it works now.
Wise Chinese Uncle 14. dec. 2023 kl. 14:01
It's almost certainly just because I have like 60 mods, but even when I load this last in the order, it has no effect.

Looks like a fantastic mod though
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 12. dec. 2023 kl. 19:01
Im glad to help and make the game feel more realistic. Your exactly right, as i said before many Middle eastern Muslims were marrying Christian Nubians, Ethiopias and other Africans.

Also the Persian Muslims were marrying many Indian women and using them as concubines or second wifes. There was many Arab/Indian mixed people in that area because of this for example Afghanistan was filled with Arab/Indian mixed people.

For the most part Christians definitely married who they wanted with out judgment. They probably hung who ever had issues with who the High King marries. Christians definitely interfaith married pagans in Europe and in Africa alot more then the muslims did.

The -1000 modifier seems to be there just to increase difficulty rather then actual Medieval Realism.
VampXGamer 12. dec. 2023 kl. 15:09
Thanks for this! I also found it ridiculously restrictive. This game holds to a myth, but the reality is these kings did what they could get away with, including interfaith marriages. Scandal sure, but no one stopped it.
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 12. dec. 2023 kl. 9:37
Update : Changed the Evil Opinion Modifier from -150 to -125 so its a little easier to marry someone if you invest into the relationship with said ruler, after testing i found that - 150 was still a bit too hard .
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 12. dec. 2023 kl. 9:16
@zachary.deca.stl Yes this mod does work with existing saves.
zachary.deca.stl 11. dec. 2023 kl. 22:03
is this something that could be added to an existing save game?
HaziTru  [ophavsmand] 11. dec. 2023 kl. 11:02
Exactly, -150 opinion modifier to me is the sweet spot where its still very hard to marry but not impossible if you invest into diplomacy, legacies etc.

-1000 breaks realism for me because interfaith marriages weren't obsolete in the Middle Ages as the game makes it seem. It did happen every once in a while. Many kings found pretty women who they fell in love with who were a different religion.
mademan2 11. dec. 2023 kl. 9:40
Very nice, I always found it a bit riddiculus that its just plain impossible, thanks.
