a little correction: you can check for account age and game availability either way cause you just need to access the steam api, but oauth makes sure the account is legitimate

well in theory you could make people authorize on your website once, get a permanent key/token that they'll save in the mod and then that will be used for authenticating them. by authorizing on a website you can check a bunch of neat stuff such as the account having garry's mod in the first place (although it'll require people to make their game details public, at least at the moment of registration) or account age.
it doesn't have to be done outside of the game either, you can open a url in the steam client browser which has you authorized on steam already: gui.OpenURL( string url )

otherwise I would have to make people connect to their steam account when joining a game, and that's not a good idea. SteamID() only returns the steamid but it can be changed by the client and thus not safe

I can't use steam oauth because on gmod I can only get the steamid but I cannot pass trough steam, and about the ssl certificate I know

also you need to update the ssl certificate on your website :-)

why not use steam oauth for authorization instead of ip's? the former will be more reliable in terms of enforcing bans and seeing who's who, and you wouldn't have to block vpn's either

then it's your internet speed that may cause problems because it pings the server every 1 or 2 seconds (if I remember) and if it can't ping and it timeout most of the time, well that's the reason it happens unfortunately

im not so sure about that because the dude who had that going on said i kept leaving and rejoining (i didnt have the desktop version of gic or had the esc menu open)

you mean, the same person joins and leave everytime? If so, that's not a bug, it may be because the person is in the escape menu and it pauses the pinging so it makes him disconnect but it reconnects him once he's back in game, otherwise, it maybe because he has the desktop version of GIC opened at the same time that he's in game with it, wich may cause issues.
