Lovecraft tree gives you LESS HP. Hmmm. Odd...

mmm free potions, maybe change that up a bit so you can sacrifice a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of mana for a normal potion would be neat.

Hehe, too late. It's fun until anything hits you once.

After a while playing with this mod I've noticed a few problems.
One is that none of the spells scale at all, not sure if that's intentional or not. You can add damage scaling by including (as an example for aetherial damage) aetherealF="0.4" in the spell damage, so you would get 4 more points of aetherial damage for every 10 magic points you have. It works for any damage type, i.e. aetherealF="0.6", righteousF="1.4", acidicF="0.2", etc.
The other problem is that Dark Conduit is pretty overpowered. Getting a health potion 12.5% of the time or a potion of lively regeneration 6.25% of the time when you kill something pretty much means you'll always have enough healing to live even if your max health is low. I'd recommend having it instead trigger a small heal based on your life regeneration like vampirism or something.
Still a fun mod though, thanks for your work.

Nice mod, play this with Radiant Wizard for maximum glass cannon. ^^

Ah yes, those XML yetis are brutal... and hungry...

Love the idea behind this mod, I already have enough trouble staying alive as a wizard but maybe it's time to embrace the squishyness... wait, not sure that came out right; I just mean that squishy eldritch tentacle things are a good source of power...

I'm going to stop talking now before I reveal any further loss of sanity arising from contact with eldritch horros. Point: excellent mod, sir!

Thanks for fixing it! And telling us in such an entertaining way xD

The problem was that I didn't realize cooldown and mana cost were mutually exclusive. The problem was corrected shortly after the XML yetis finished brutally beating me, so now it should be okay. Just remember to update, or they'll come for you next.

I approve

Also: I checked again and casting Roots of Suffering doesn't cost me any mana...? Any ideas on why this would be the case? I have no other mods downloaded so I have no idea what the problem is. I did download the free expansion pack a while ago, but I can't imagine that's the problem...
Eldenis 24. aug. 2014 kl. 16:27
Lol well maybe i didn't look hard enough... >.<
I'd say an hp drain per spell you cast, but not permanant. Just my opinion.
I've found that breaking up the lovecraft skills with one that buffs you (armor, metalcraft, ect) help a little bit... but not enough to make up for the massive penalty. Two emerald encrusted rings work nicely though, if you can survive long enough

P.S. I tried to play lovecraft/bloodmage/vampire/ect.... didn't work out too well
Mr. Graves  [ophavsmand] 24. aug. 2014 kl. 15:10
Exactly.
Mr. Graves  [ophavsmand] 24. aug. 2014 kl. 15:05
That's generally what I was aiming for, but... 9 HP is going too far. Especially for lower dungeon levels.
Mr. Graves  [ophavsmand] 24. aug. 2014 kl. 15:02
Actually, I changed that in one of the updates.
Mr. Graves  [ophavsmand] 24. aug. 2014 kl. 14:59
I didn't induce damage per spell cast because of the HP penalty that each spell gives you; if I change anything, it'll be that. It's a delicate issue, since I've found that it's entirely possible to end up with under ten HP, which is way too squishy, especially since it would make Alien Astronomy impossible to use.

Roots of Suffering does have a mana cost; it costs 30.
Eldenis 24. aug. 2014 kl. 13:36
and I forgot something again :\ The Roots of Suffering pretty much block the ability to see anything on the ground while they're in use. Intentional?
Eldenis 24. aug. 2014 kl. 13:33
Is there a way to edit my posts? I just forgot to mention one thing: I OBLITERATED a monster zoo with the "Roots of Suffering". Give it a mana cost, maybe?
Eldenis 24. aug. 2014 kl. 13:30
a few suggestions: increase the length of the cooldown for the "Roots of Suffering", give "aliens astronomy" some sort of negative, reduce the frequency of the special for "Hound of Cathon" (the potion drops), and maybe hurt the player when he/she casts any of the spells (including refreshing "aliens astronomy"?)

all suggestions and i've never given feedback to any mods, so sorry if this comes across rude in any way >.<
Love the mod!

Very nice, I'm looking forward to updates. Good job!
