With 1.5 mod started to throw `attempt to index a nil value (local 'defs')`

I also noticed before 1.5 that the guys seem not have different outfits

@LionCat I thought that Tactical Enemy overwrote all the Legion soldier entries?

@XXX_420_Bad_Boy I solve the issue with a simple but effective method:
1st- Please open yourself mod through the in-game "mod editor", then click the 'SAVE' button to allow the editor to complete an auto-optimisation

2nd- Please choose the 'LegionVarietyPackCode' at bottom of your mod through mod editor. then adjust the last line:

-- load changes
mod_Legion()

to

function OnMsg.OptionsApply()
mod_Legion()
end


3rd- Profit!!!

Note: As this code is based on mariolof's original coding script so this Legion Variety Pack Mod is Fully COMPATIBLE with Tactical Enemy \ AI & The Grand Chien Nightmare :) :praisesun::estusfull::JA3medal:

@afrorome tactical enemy is not compatible because it changes enemy defs-- though i don't know why it would be causing that specific bug, or if it is.

Just wanted to chime in that the mod does not work properly, the game works for me but all legion look that same. I am playing with RATOs balancing mod and Tactical Enemy from mariolof though, so maybe that is why...

@AlexSansNig unfortunately not at the moment. I am planning on getting back into JA3 modding a little bit soon, but i have older mods to update first. Also, I did do a little work on a test version of a militia mod, and I didn't really come up with any creative ideas. It was basically swapping heads and hats.

@williamalvarez80 my best guess would be lowering texture settings as this mod calls up like half or more of the character models in the game and that has to be sucking up a lot of ram. let me know if that helps. thanks for playing!

@williamalvarez80 no one else has reported this issue. if you have a lower spec PC, it's possible that loading a ton of assets is the reason, or it could be another mod. in the absence of other reports i can't do much.

tried the mod, and it makes the game stutter a lot. it stopped once I disable the mod.

@LionCat I could look into it but for the most part I suspect Army and Adonis might be a bit less fun just because they're uniformed services. Still, there's probably room for creativity! Feel free to use any of fhese models for tactical enemy as a dependency or whatever

@XXX_420_Bad_Boy Hi mariolof's modding team here :) Really good job mate! I personally wish you could do some variants to those Army & Adonis then making them more pro-elite alike. As we are preparing a big update of 'Tactical Enemy', it is great to have more variety in all troops that'll be very fun for NG+ experience:praisesun:

skins only. Rato makes some changes to enemy loadout wrt to mods l think, MariOlof tactical enemy gives more variety, and randomised loot with Tons of Guns also

Hi, maybe I´m wrong but is this just a skin pack or do the Legionaires also come with different weapons which would throw off the balance of power especially at the start of a new campaign?

@Dr. Cat -- you might have been playing while I was pushing a fix and it didn't update, but I looked again and made some other adjustments that should be good for now. Please keep reporting any missing enemies, there is 100+ variations now so errors may not be immediately visible.
