Yes, that's how it's supposed to work. It's meant to be hard to store a charge, as those moves are very powerful when you have it ready to go on demand. Particularly the ground version of Pierce, which is the only one that can't power itself up.

There are a few ways to spend meter that give you a charge to use as you like though. The Character Codex mod has all the info on how everything works if you wanna dig up the secrets.

Whenever I hit a projectile it casts the projectile boosted version of the attack immediately, i that supposed to happen? I think it should just store the power up for when you need to use it.

Achievements have just been added! Requires the Codex mod for achievements to work.
33 achievements, with 5 mile stones, and maybe a few hidden silly things.

And barely much else was nerfed so thankfully you don't have to have crazy setups to still play well. But you can definitely learn/figure out some nonsensical stuff to do cool moves.

I think I may have a lead on the Sky Hunter taking over the UI bug. Am working on an update that has the fix in it. If you get the bug you have to clear the cache. Hopefully won't be too long til I get this tested and all that.

Sorry. Things got hectic and a last minute change broke the blaster boosting. It wasn't supposed to kill the shot when you hit it. That was a bug. It should be fixed. Normally I'm more careful but deadlines hit at bad timing.

Is striking a blaster shot, either active or inert, supposed to make it fizzle completely at the moment? I can see that when you strike a shot with a melee attack, the redirect line appears matching your DI input, but there's no altered shot.

Imagine the Unreal Tournament classic Shock Rifle combo as a mechanic. Probably hard to pull off in a timely manner given the speed of the game, but if any gun might be able to pull it off, it's Sky Hunter's Blaster. Although I'm not sure how you get EX attacks from hitting Blaster shots, it ought to be interesting.

I see Sky Hunter has also been inspired by 1.9 Ninja's new Shuriken tricks. He is not the first to add "hit the projectile to make it stronger" mechanics.

Part of that is needing to be careful about your momentum. As much as Sky Hunter can sort of go in any direction, the limiting factor is more keeping your momentum under control.

A good handful of the air moves at least get into the start of their active frames before canceling into landing. You won't get the full coverage, but can still hit someone carelessly running in. That said, if you run outta flight, then Kick and Blaster are the only real options, so you do have to be careful about that. Being completely out of flight meter is quite bad.

Kick is the fastest air option and that still works on landing.

Biggest issue I’ve come across playing as SH, is the fact you have so few options when you are close to landing - something that seems to get used against you every time you play (as it seems moves get cancelled when you are about to land) this may be due to startup frames, but I’d like to be able to throw out a quick attack (especially when out of fuel.)

Also bit of a story. Once upon a time, most of his ground moves were a lot slower to come out. Other than the jab. Characters without a f4 option are actively bad up close. But anyways. Got him into actual competitive play for feedback, and, got a lot of feedback about a lot of the moves just not being good enough to contest other characters with decent moves. Outside Blaster. Old blaster was actually broken OP combined with Overcharger being infinite ammo back then. Anyways, long story short. Frame data got buffed, pretty significantly.

While people do generally rate him pretty high on tier lists, he also doesn't tend to fare terribly well in serious play. I'd guess it's part bad luck in tournament play, and part due to not many people putting in the time to really show just how crazy he can get (outside single player combos). So basically, not planning any serious nerfs outside things I find to be actual design issues. Like having had 3 differently timed guard breaks previously. But show me a dominant Sky Hunter player, or y'know, explain things out why specific stuff is a problem, and I'll definitely consider changes. I'm certainly not afraid to buff or nerf im.

He is meant to be a versatile all rounder in concept so glad that comes through in gameplay. Also why his move set includes attacks that don't use the weapons at all. He's definitely a character that you can play very differently depending on how you use your meter. Since he can play a pretty zoning and set play heavy game, but that won't leave you much for the other metered moves.

Skin has been mostly handed out from modded tournament play and some event stuff. As well as a few for people that have been a big contribution to the development of this mod. Not many of them out there honestly. I'm not really planning to be stingy, but do want them to be a reward for stuff and not just tossing em around for no real reason. That said, I gotta get back on finding good places to hand more out. Palworld and other stuff very much stole my attention the last several weeks so could have been a lot more going around.

Aaaalso, if anyone wants to suggest any sort of fun event/contest or even just chat about the character, do swing by the Modded Yomi discord. I regularly check there for things going on. And I do wanna be giving out a lot more skins, cuz I did put a lot of work into it an do want people to have em.

A 4-frame jab is a "good" jab and means the character who has it can survive in close quarters and work as a rushdown character; by comparison, a 5-frame jab is a "bad" jab and is reserved for characters who don't necessarily want to engage in CQC. Sky Hunter's jab - Shear - is 4f, although it has practically no range. He can rushdown with snappy attacks and aerial movement, he can zone/setplay with his Blaster (until he runs out of energy) and lance attacks, his Rolling Launch command jump gives him additional options - he's got it all. He is a genuine jack-of-all-trades, master of none, which is sometimes better than a master of one.

This is pretty excellent, and the shot bouncing is insanely useful, I just feel some of the attacks of this character come out too fast - like their jab equivalent - for how incredibly mobile and versatile this character gets. The resource management does keep this character from being completely broken, but they're definitely on the upper end of the strength scale, which does show how well-designed the combo selection is, I just think it's a little too much.
