@miku567 No, this mod's functionality depends on Active Defenses, so it cannot be removed from the dependencies. Although Active Defenses specifies NuterraSteam beta as a dependency, you can use the non-beta version of NuterraSteam instead. However, it will not work on the unstable version of TerraTech.

Only the Merlin Point-Defense Turret actually functions outside of a very short range of the enemy tech. It kind of makes all point defense outside of it useless. Strangely enough, though, when the Merlin starts targeting missiles, OTHER point defense systems kick in as well. So there's something deeper going on here than just weird range issues.
