B42 Version HERE

================ BUILD 42 INFO ================

I am currently playtesting b42 and trying to determine how things work now. A lot has seemingly changed. I haven't done anything with modding in many months, so it will take me some time to learn how everything must be done now.

With that said, there *are* plans to update my mods to the best of my ability. Some of my mods are quite complex and i'm not sure if they will even work with the new systems due to the way I designed them. They will likely have to be re-built from the ground up. This will take some time, and unfortunately I cannot give an accurate ETA on when I will figure out how to update my mods. I don't want to get hopes up or provide false expectations.

This technology was in its infancy in the 90s (the time period that this game takes place) and wasn't developed until around 2005 (if we're going by lifestraw) therefore this would be cheating.

Who cares if it's not lore accurate? I'm pretty certain people pick up project zomboid to RP being in a zombie apocalypse. Not exactly a 1990s version of an apocalypse -_-.

If people want modern amenities in their zombie apocalypse game, then why should they not be allowed to mod it into their games? Or even share said mod for anyone else of like mind to use? It doesn't hurt anyone who doesn't want it, and it certainly does not hurt those who do want it.

Y'all, I understand it's not lore friendly and is a few years ahead of it's time. It's just a mod. I think it's hilarious that of all my mods, this is the one that is being labeled as unrealistic.

According to a google search, the water filter straw was not invented until 1994. So they wouldn't have this lol

I own a few of these IRL and it's awesome to see these make it into Zomboid. Sure it's not "lore friendly" because of the timeframe but still awesome to see this capability.

It's not lore friendly, as 7iox pointed out, given that it was developed in 1994 and then enhanced in 1999, but it's still a tremendously smart idea. Better make it capable of filtering. (joking)

Did anyone even read the mod description, it clearly states it has 30 uses before it is depleted and needs to be replaced.

Can the number of uses be tweaked?
Or their spawn chance, just in case, I haven't tested how common or rare they are.

@Jasdan Each straw has 30 uses before being depleted.

@jasdan every time you use it the durability goes down till the filter breaks and you need too find a new one (new straw that is no plans too add swapable filters atm)

How does durability work for this thing?
After a while the filter should get clogged and no longer work well.
