I agree, really hope we see another game like this, and maybe after AOW 4 will see its planetfall version in the future.
There may already be similar searching AI, and not too hard to make.
But give it a try if you like, if you’re playing normal and finding it fair then you may not need what’s in the description. All difficulties got some changes among the other listed changes (:
Oh my bad! I’ll update it again tomorrow, last update I was meant to change that back, I am still digging into the modding and was testing that to see if they pop more, but finding the right setting for forward bases still eludes me. Thanks for pointing that out, I’ll get that fixed tomorrow and push the update to fix that.
How are you finding the extreme difficulty? Should still be manageable?
There are changes that I am still tidying up , but I have a friend that helps in testing so it’s slow, I also have a note book of files to still check for some adjustments I’m looking for in the game. But most of my time goes to the AOW4 version.
I've played a few games now on the Extreme AI difficulty and I think the cost reduction to making Forward Bases (from 20 to 5) makes them too abusable by the player, even when not intending to.
I assume this was to make the AI create more of them but they don't seem to make any more than from when the cost was 20.
I haven’t noticed anything unusual like bugs, crashes or glitches so it seems stable for my experience. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for making this great mod and for continually updating it – even into 2023!
Glad you like it (:
I'm greatly enjoying the mod thus far. Thank you. I hope you continue to provide support for it if the devs decide to patch the game.
For example, in higher difficulties, the AI is more inclined to try and build a certain number of colonies ahead of the player.
Try it out and see how you like it, the Wiki page for Planetfall has a breakdown of all bonuses for each difficulty, all have been removed and some priorities changed that aren't listed. AI plays on equal terms as the player now, however, this doesn't mean they'll play better.
I work shiftwork is all, but I’ll see what I can do.
It sounds like either a DLC isn’t installed or is missing on your end, as this mod requires all DLC expansions at the moment.
What can it be?
