Great mod, thanks for making it. One note: the mod doesn't calculate the building slots unlocked by mining districts when playing the subterranean origin.

I just have an issue with Subterran Machines. Right now they are not counted. Would be great if this was added as well.

Trying Void-Dwellers again, and this mod is often off, sometimes by more than 1 Building Slot. It's also annoying that I can' know if it's safe to demolish/replace one Habitation District without losing a Building Slot or not, because this mod doesn't show the decimals.

I think a more "raw" style where the "true" numbers, including decimals, are shown, would be much more helpful when dealing with Habitats.

As well as bugfixing the part where the number of Slots the mod says I have is markedly different from the number of Slots I actually have.

I'm now playing the Void-Dweller Origin for the first time since the changes to Habitats, and I know that some things appear to give 0.5 Building Slot but this is not shown in the tool tip for this mod, instead the rounded down value is shown.

I think it'd be more helpful, especially to teach players new to Void-Dweller, to show the actual value in a paranthesis, i.e. as "Slots: 6 (6.5)" to indicate to the player that he's half-away to unlocking another slot.

Yeah, from reading vanilla code, Procedural Space is applied to the *empire*, and in my testing the mod does account for it there. (Though I can't properly test without owning AP). Not a problem to check.

Looking more closely, there is some kind of +1 "Empire Modifiers" shown, and it adds up to my 3rd RW Segment having exactly the 12 Slots it needs, so I think your mod is working fine after all.

Thanks, it should, I coded it in, but maybe I did it wrong. I don't own AP but I should be able to console in the modifier and test. Will do it later

There's an Astral Rift outcome that gives an Empire-wide modifier called "Procedural Space" which adds 1 Building Slot. As far as I can see, it adds it both to natural Planets and to Shattered Ring Segmens.

And it doesn't seem as if this mod takes it into account.

I just once again want to say thank you for this mod.

It adds so much quality-of-life to the gameplay experience. Before I had to jump through all kinds of hoops to make sure that my developped planets were "right" in terms of having exactly as many City Districts as they need. It wasn't difficult, but it was a constant thing, an annoyance. That's gone now.

It's MP compatible only if all players have it, and in the right order. The checksum needs to be the same for all players.

The specific problem seems to be the Planet Class bonus, which gives +12. That's correct for a normal Ringworld Segment, but is incorrect for a Shattered Ringworld Segment that has yet to be repaired into a Normal Ringworld Segment.

As an experienced player, I can probably work around that by doing the mental arithmetic of subtracting 12, but it's not good for new players, and mental arithmetic also isn't ideal to do in a frantic MP game with no pausing.

There seems to be some bugginess with the Shattered Ring Origin, where the mod assumes that all Building Slots are auto-unlocked like they'd be on a regular Ring Segment. Or have I misunderstood something? I've only recently started using this mod, because of some problems I had with GFN.

My industry districs adds +0.34 building capacity/district. In the calc from the mod I don't see this, is the summary in another point shown or not implemented?

I haven't updated this for 3.9 yet, so don't use this version. The vanilla version was partly updated for 3.9 so far.

I really like this mod but unfortunately it breaks ironman and I lost all my achievement that could be gain in my first long game.

No, sorry, I reflow (and rewrite) the file as part of my automation and that won't be changing.

My only actual changes to planet_view.gui are listed in the description. This is a file that has to be overwritten entirely, so the solution to conflicts in planet_view.gui is to place the mod you actually want to use lower in your playlist.

Irony Mod Manager throws a lot of conflicts in the GUI files between this and UI Overhaul Dynamic as well as the basegame. All of them are simply the quotation marks around the names e.g. GFX_job_default and others which are not there in your mod. Was wondering if you mind to add those to your mod so we don't get unnecessary errors in IMM... .

I am using 36 Building Slots but this mod does not display the Max Number of Buildings.
36 Buildings Slots is first in Load Order, then UI Overhaul, then this mod.

As for the reflow and text structuring, I can't really explain it without pictures. That python script does a lot of minor text edits, which made it hard for me (and likely other people in the future) to track down what changes you've made (rather then the ones the script did). But that is only a problem when a mod does not work as intended.

Yep, it was reflowed programmatically using this tool [github.com], and that's going to remain part of my workflow. But I'm not sure I understand what the issue is, is it just comparing with other mods? I can add some info for modders to the description.

What mod is SBSC? If it's popular enough I can easily add a version of this mod for it.

Yes x 4; Version 3.7.4 of Stellaris, UIOD and this mod.
With the extra information you posted (and a bit more patience then I had yesterday) I was able to find the block of code I had overlooked. Thank you for the help.

When I open SBSC and UIOD version of the file in notepad++ and compare, most lines look altered. Eg:

iconType = {
name = "header_line"
spriteType = "GFX_ui_line_center_tiny"
position = { x = -122 y = 25 }
orientation = center_up
}

are turned into

iconType = {
name = header_line
spriteType = GFX_ui_line_center_tiny
position = {
x = -122
y = 25
}
orientation = center_up
}

Note the " in the name = and spriteType = and the extra line breaks in position = . Text compare apps (inlc: Irony Mod manager) flags these as line altered or line added. I can not imagine you made these changes by hand, but I hope that you can wrangle the program into obedience, in anticipation of your future mods

It still works for me, but I'm not sure what you're talking about. Got any more of them details?

Is UIOD active? Is this mod active? Is this mod below UIOD? Are there NO other mods affecting the GUI (planet_view.gui) active? There's a debug command on the vanilla listing (I'll add it to this one), what happens when you run it? Are you on 3.7.4? Is your UIOD updated? Did you verify files on Steam?

If you're talking about planet_view.gui, yes I have reflowed it and removed comments, but there are still plenty of quote marks, and I'm not sure what you mean about line separators. Functionally, planet_view.gui is identical to UIOD's version except for the "fl_planet_num_buildings" effectButtonType block.
