Brass = 7
Pig Iron = 10
Silver = 10
Boarbrass = 20
Gold = 30
I'm interested in specializing in making boarbrass production.
Wonder if you or others would be able to spitball unique products for your other races as well.
51.47 should work nicely for everyone. Enjoy!
In addition to hopefully solving the graphics bugs (let me know if you see them still, as I don't) I've added the first special recipe!
Boarth can now make ++BOARBRASS++. This is a new material metal which can only be smelted when playing as a Boarth civilization, but can be found on traders if not. Dwarves can smith with it, but not smelt it themselves.
Boarbrass is smelted from Brass + Pig Iron. It has the qualities of pig iron, with added value from the brass. The particular significance of Boarbrass is economic rather than quality — not only does it add special purpose to Pig iron, but it also allows brass (normally a decorative metal) to be used bar-for-bar for weapons and armor.
Graphically, the brass color is applied to weapons and armor, which you don't see in vanilla. Boarbrass looks suitably decorative and simple, perfect for Boarth royal guards.
Thanks for the mods
I can't re-create the problem you guys are reporting, even on 50.14 testing. The graphics seem fine on my side, is there something I'm missing? Or maybe a file was missing from the previous upload.
Also just a suggestion, maybe a alloy of gold and pig iron for gilting? So soldiers can march out with good and valuable gear before you steal some steel, bit like bismuth bronze.
Also, sorry to be a bother, but I encountered a new bug: the sprite for the Boarth is just their heads, going around and doing things.
This fixes the graphical glitch that was happening, and gives them quite nice graphics. I updated all the photos above so you can see the current graphics.
I also touched up their entity file, giving them some similarities to the Myce I also made recently.
Enjoy, and do share your stories of Boarth here!
Awesome to see these civs coming out from you!
In a practical sense, as far as I know Pig Iron isn't supposed to be much better than actual Iron. Unsure if it's worth it to make it... But it is fitting that they can.
Probably still useful for being a more valuable metal!
Lovely attention to detail!
seeing this in the recommended mods was like walking into a metal bar
Also, I am just about to update to improve the ethics to match the current version. They should be aligned with Humans, Dwarves, and Elves, albeit being much more 'chaotic' than any of those.
