It took a lot of messing around. but eventually i had to create a new rpk pack with the injector items, then have a the based Therian relic unlock depend on the new rpk, and add the injector item as a unlock item/dependencies. A bit if hassle, but only way i got it to work.

i have yet to test this mod, but in advance i am curious, how you managed to get the therian relic working with the DNA-injectors as buyable items. i tried to get that working, when the empire mode launched back in the day, but failed to get it working. (well, first time i tried modding AOW, but two weeks of failure killed the mood for me :D )
