I will second that it'd be nice to embark with these for lower tech starts.

Is there anyway to make the tools available at embark? Kind of weird to start with metal and switch to stone or bone weapons. Also any chance of antler picks? I would love to go metal free as much as I could.

It's fun to have shell and bone and leather clad Dwarves with stone and bone weapons clashing with Goblins!.

Just to let you know, macahuitl already exist in the form of the obsidian shortsword, which requires wood to make and pretty clearly makes it a macahuitl expy.

@Doomsayer
This mod DOES allow you to make simple stone weapons from any type of non-economic stone.
Enjoy!

Turns out flint is a form of chert, and chert is a stone that already exists, so it might be easier to use that

I love primitive weaponry, as someone who prefers to play with less metal availability. I wish stone tools supported more than just obsidian, though. Maybe have flint veins inside chalk or limestone layers, so that sedimentary layer embarks are also covered

@Stogie Craftsdwarf workshop. the obsidian weapons are in the 'obsidian' category, and the rest are in 'make primitive tools'
@Kasa the stone hatchet does cut trees, but until i add adzes there isnt a primitive pick.
There is no primitive anvil, though that is an idea i may implement in the future.
Kasa 2022 年 12 月 24 日 下午 4:06
does the stone hatchet work on cutting trees?
And is there a primitive anvil?

It would be pretty sick to do a hard core start with 0 materials what so ever.

Which workshop are these for? Or do dwarves automatically slap 'em together if there isn't a tool they need for a job?
