Two minor bugs:
1. Custom reactions don't actually take "TOOLTIP" tokens (only custom buildings do that), so this mod logs 3 errors on startup.
2. The "burn corpse" reaction specifies a reagent of type "CORPSE:CORPSE:NONE:NONE" - this should be "CORPSE:NONE:NONE:NONE".

Burning Vermin works fine.
If I queue "burn corpse" the dwarfs haul body parts there to burn.

Since it edits the civilization raws a little, I'm not sure it would work if you try to add it to an existing save. It's already generated the civilizations without the mod, I think that means it won't work but you can try and figure it out
Overdoze 17. mar. 2023 kl. 16:46
Any way to add this mod to a existing game? Or one I forgot to add it too lol.
Shawn 20. feb. 2023 kl. 15:46
Been using this mod for a long time. Just here to say it is very useful
DrBubba 30. jan. 2023 kl. 15:45
Right on. Thanks for the quick fix!
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 30. jan. 2023 kl. 15:13
Just made an update that should hopefully help the game figure out what is a corpse or a body part. The token system is rather difficult to use for this purpose because there aren't examples around, kinda just have to trial and error it, but it takes forever to test on my own and I'm a little preoccupied
DrBubba 30. jan. 2023 kl. 11:48
I have my workshop set to Burn Corpse and it's burning mussel shells and stray llama wool. This doesn't seem right. It's not set to burn Body Parts, just corpses.
scottbot 24. jan. 2023 kl. 10:43
Got it that makes sense. Can’t destroy goblins that way. Might be worth mentioning in the mod description! Thanks for the reply
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 24. jan. 2023 kl. 10:12
I think it's supposed to say "requires body part", yeah. Just a weird way the game uses the tokens

Dwarves are unable to butcher remains of intelligent creatures, and I think that may extend to burning because it's attached to the tokens that define corpses instead of being attached to butchering. Not sure, but that's my best guess.

Luckily you don't tend to have so many intelligent corpses around that you can't atom smash them all if it becomes a problem
scottbot 23. jan. 2023 kl. 19:25
Got the mod and burn corpse option! However, now burn corpse is red (not available) despite having 3 goblin corpses on the linked stockpile. I also have wood pile linked. The tooltip for burn corpse says (requires body part) instead of corpse… is this a bug?
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 20. jan. 2023 kl. 12:15
See if you can just... forbid the fire snake remains? Don't know how many keep showing up on your map, might not work very well
LadyBuffalax 20. jan. 2023 kl. 11:06
Love this mod, except I'm running into an issue with fire snake remains. My wood burner dwarves keep burning themselves to death, and until I built the furnace out of dolomite (high melting point), the furnace itself kept burning down, too. Not sure if there is anything to be done about it, since fire snakes themselves have such a high temperature, but it is an annoying issue, especially since there doesn't seem to be a good way of singling out fire snake remains from all the other remains.
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 14. jan. 2023 kl. 20:53
No, you don't need to link a stockpile to see the reactions. Sounds like you have a mod conflict, probably. Since this mod doesn't overwrite anything with cuts, it should work if you change the load order (put this mod after any other mods you have)

If you are new to modding DF: make sure you've actually enabled the mod by selecting it under "mods" when you generate a world. It's not automatically active just by downloading it, and you can't add it to existing saves
scottbot 14. jan. 2023 kl. 19:08
Edit. I have the mod enabled but no option appeases at my wood furnace to burn remains. Do I need to link a stockpile first?
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 8. jan. 2023 kl. 19:36
There's an built-in feature to remove worn clothing more quickly. Make a refuse stockpile and any clothes inside will decay much faster than normal, eventually disintegrating.

Clothing burn mod would be even more reliant on stockpile linking as well, I don't think there's a way to differentiate good clothing and worn clothing in the raws so my reaction would just take any and all clothing unless you linked it to a stockpile that only accepted worn clothing (which you already have to do for the first thing to make it decay faster anyway)
Mr. S 8. jan. 2023 kl. 16:19
Could you add burning worn clothing? Cheers~
Chief_Curtains 1. jan. 2023 kl. 17:04
Alright, I will give that a shot if I start a new world. Thank you!

My current one is going well., so I wont be restarting any time soon. I don't have many mods loaded but I can definitely see how that could be. I'm used to modding and making mods for Rimworld, which is so much more compartmentalized, been a while since I have had to fiddle with these types of load order issues haha
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 1. jan. 2023 kl. 13:59
@Chief_Curtains Due to the way modding works right now, there are mods out there that use the [CUT_ENTITY] token to completely remove the dwarf civilization before re-defining it in order to make their mods changes properly. This method works for their mod, but it's highly destructive and makes it very difficult to work with other mods.

What I recommend doing is messing with your load order. Place my mod at the end of your load order (so it's loaded after everything else) because it's non-destructive and simply adds tokens to an existing item instead of replacing or deleting things. This means it should just add stuff to the dwarf entity AFTER the other mods have messed with it, so it doesn't get deleted
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 1. jan. 2023 kl. 13:57
@Betsumei it's probably just a non-problematic error that is being posted to the logs anyway, I highly doubt it has anything to do with your crashes.

When raws have errors that are actually problematic, like if I just made a reaction that crashed the game, 99% of the time it would still let you generate a world and play normally until you actually tried to use the reaction

However, thanks for letting me know because I'm gonna check over the raws and see if that error makes sense or not. The TOOLTIP token is new and I might be using it wrong
Betsumei (Rebecca) 1. jan. 2023 kl. 13:27
I'm chasing down a crash on worldgen and spotted this in the logs running 1.1 of this mod. Hoping that this isn't the one I'll have to turn off because I'm really looking forward to trying this. :)

@chief_curtains are you using a custom race? because this only add the ability to dwarves, human and goblins. You will need to modify the custom race if you want them to be able to do this too,
Chief_Curtains 1. jan. 2023 kl. 4:10
I have confirmed across three separate worlds that I have this mod installed, but it does not work, at all. The wood furnace simply has the Ash and Charcoal options and nothing else. Anyone else seen this? There is no log or anything to help @Haethei, sorry to be one of those "doesn't work" commentors.
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 30. dec. 2022 kl. 6:52
I believe it's currently set up to burn 5 vermin for 1 ash, 2 body parts for 1 ash, or 1 corpse for 2 ash each

Atom smashing is probably more effective for getting rid of stuff, but lots of people don't know about it and/or want a "less cheaty" way, especially since it gives you a useful resource that might not be worth your time to produce otherwise

I might mess with the values later, I'll keep your suggestion in mind :)
Silly Cat 30. dec. 2022 kl. 5:38
how many bars of ash get's produced? i would use this if it creates more ash than just burning wood directly. otherwise "dwarven atom smashing" is just more effective to get rid of tons of crap.

if it doesn't create more than one bar already i would suggest the following:

burn vermin = 2 ash bars
burn body parts = 3 ash bars
burn corpse = 4 ash bars
Ahlos 29. dec. 2022 kl. 0:21
Can say it burns the turtle shells atleast.
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 28. dec. 2022 kl. 12:10
I don't touch gems or crafts until I have like 40+ dwarves lol
Emilie Sackenball 28. dec. 2022 kl. 11:19
Ah well, different way to play, I use a gem setter and shellcraft If I happen to get a early fisher on my forts
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 28. dec. 2022 kl. 9:16
Shells are just annoying and completely fill up refuse stockpiles early game if you are fishing for food before you have craftsdwarves dedicated to making shell crafts. It's probably a better use of your time to make crafts with them instead of burn them though, unless you want the ash for something anyway
Froozigiusz 28. dec. 2022 kl. 6:30
@Ether very true, my legendary bone carvers make my economy flow and all the dvarves are happy because of masterfully created and decorated stuff. Sure, they are extremely abundant and there are more valuable materials, but a masterwork is a masterwork non the less.
Emilie Sackenball 28. dec. 2022 kl. 4:42
@[MCRN] Ahlos shells are useful, idk why people think they are waste, there's are shellcrafts and shell encrusts, unless you don't like any of that.
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 26. dec. 2022 kl. 2:01
I think you can burn shells? I'm not certain, if you could try and let me know that would help. Just make a stockpile that only accepts shells and link it to the furnace.

I think it'll work on anything that counts as a "body part", which would include teeth, wool, hair, maybe even untanned hide. That's why I recommend to make a stockpile link that only accepts certain items you want to burn, so you don't accidentally burn everything useful

Looks like the description reverted itself when I updated, I had more info in there, I'll fix it now lol
Ahlos 26. dec. 2022 kl. 0:41
Thank you. I asked for this. Finnaly, maybe my fps go down cleaning up the gazillion corpses.
Possible to burn the "shells" too from fishing?
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 23. dec. 2022 kl. 20:03
Updated to fix generic bar items, just a small typo in the raws
Jawnycat 23. dec. 2022 kl. 19:01
I'm getting generic 'bar' items instead of ash bars out of the reaction.
Haethei  [ophavsmand] 23. dec. 2022 kl. 7:25
Yeah, just to get rid of them. I was personally sick of seeing my refuse stockpile full of things my cats have killed, and it's a good idea to burn bodies because any dwarves seeing them will get a mood penalty, even if you shove them in a dark corner somewhere they'll still be seen by the next dwarves who have to throw something away into that stockpile

I wanted the reaction to use fuel, but I didn't really want it to feel annoying or expensive to do. It makes sense that ash would be produced and it's a good way to introduce people to using ash when they might not otherwise bother
KM.One 23. dec. 2022 kl. 6:38
I like the idea, but I already get 1 ash from burning a log. so what is the point of also burning a corpse or body part with the log? is it just to get rid of them?
Mash💀 22. dec. 2022 kl. 22:39
I'll try it out on a fresh save right now and report if it works later tonight
