I seem to be unable to specify materials when making things out of rock with this mod. I can still specify the material with things that I could *normally* make out of rock, but the additional things added by this mod don't work.

wait nvm, guess expanded needs to be at the complete bottom of the load order. now im curious what of my few mods would of overwritten it. but glad it works now atleast for my 3rd attempt

i feel like im going crazy. but i have the mod enabled, and i see it load when i boot up my save. but when i go to make a work order, stone beds and bins don't exist.

Am i missing something?

@Jarl - work orders are currently bugged in general, DF folks have noted that and are working on it. For now best bet is to have specific zones connected to work bench. Not the best fix but works for now

@Jarl44k I'm not able to recreate your issue using this mod alone. I'm not sure if I'm understanding you completely, but items made from stone blocks in the Block Stoneworking menu are functioning, ordering rock blocks is also working for me. I also tried ordering obsidian blocks directly and through work orders and this worked. I suspect there may be a mod conflict or other bug at play here.

Orders on the Stonecrafting bench that use 'Blocks' won't function at all. Whether its work orders from the Labour menu or the station itself. Only orders that do not involve 'Blocks' can be used, at the moment.
e.g. Obsidian to Obsidian Blocks = Impossible
Obsidian to Obsidian Table = Possible
Any Rock to Any Rock Blocks = Impossible
This Mod is essentially unusable at the moment.

@Moonwarden64 Work Order issues are apparently a known issue and on the official bug tracker. I also thought this mod may have been the culprit, but tested it out and was still having the issue. I saw on a recent post that this is an issue with the base game and has been for some time.

seems to have a few problems after the dye update, like the vanilla wood reactions not respecting specified materials the reactions from this mods seem to also be using stones randomly even when specific ones are selected

@FerusAndSelf I’m sorry but these beds are for hardened Dwarves, maybe a bed made of feathers would be more suitable for your human needs? In seriousness… it would be interesting if you could apply mood debuffs when using certain items. Maybe once the lua mod support is out?

I haven't downloaded this nor ever used it, so maybe this is implemented, maybe not - but if there is not some sort of debuff for using the stone beds, I am going to be very disappointed.

@Dempsey Good catch! I'll get that amended soon. I'll look at bringing a few additions. I think inorganic:stone is a leftover from when I was trying to limit economic stone usage, which I think the worthless_stone token now covers so I'll change that.

Quick note on the errors others mentioned.

There is a duplicated reaction that needs edited, on a block version of a reaction. It was a fast fix, and i forgot which item >.> minecarts maybe? Reactions were defined correctly in entity_patch, but your block version was listed as [REACTION:MAKE_ROCK_X] instead of [REACTION:MAKE_ROCK_BLOCK_X] in the reaction file.

For the error log spam mentioned, changing block reaction reagents from INORGANIC:STONE to INORGANIC:NONE preserved functionality while removing the flags

This is a wonderful mod! Thank you for publishing it here =) Items produced from blocks are especially welcome, and could be expanded on in my opinion. Trinkets and toys maybe at your 3:4 ratio? or 1:1 just for ease? Great for post construction spree cleanup, and gives a practical use to the random blocks i already end up buying off caravans to free their weight capacity. Before these just went to the atom smasher.

Might be worth mentioning:

If one is also using Set Production 1.2 by Thurasiz, Stoneworking Expanded should be BEFORE it in the load order.

At least during my personal mod load order testing, this works.

@Zayven If the mod isn't working, despite the load order you are putting it in, then there is, likely, a conflict between this and another mod you are using or another mod you are using needs to go later in the load order than this mod does. Unless a Mod Author makes a compatibility list, then the only way you are going to figure out what is what is by doing it yourself, as far as I am aware.

You need to make worlds, adding/removing mods and/or changing their load order one by one, until you find the problem child, so to speak.

@AlwaysAngron This sounds possibly like a mod which overhauls the dwarven race. What the dwarves can craft are written into the raws that define the 'mountain' race. Some overhauls completely overwrite this rather than merge any changes with it, making custom reactions lost. You might have some success with changing mod load order.

@big sillytitle I've tried to reproduce the crash with the listed mods but it's working for me so far. I had the mods in that order with Stoneworking Expanded at the end. Is the game crashing when you try to load the save?

Does clearing your installed mods folder at fix this?

C:\...\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\data\installed_mods

(the game will add the mods back to your save when you load it, using latest workshop files)

I looked at the raws for all the mods listed and none should be causing any conflicts.

@big sillytitle That's an odd one. Are you running any other mods? Are you playing the beta build? I tested it alone with no other mods and it's working fine, so I think there's a strange conflict somewhere, maybe another mod that does something to minerals or materials?

Patch 51 might have broke this. None of the options are showing up at the Stoneworker's Workshop.Don't have any overhaul mods, just Advanced Agriculture and Metallic, and I uninstalled those mods and created a new world to see if they were conflicting. After creating a few new worlds and rushing the stonecutter table I haven't had any luck with this or your lite "just the bed" version.

@Vanguard I don't know any specific ones without diving into their raws, but it will typically be most mods that majorly overhaul the dwarven race into something else.

Thanks for the heads up. Somebody said it was crashing so I thought it needed updating. Are there any mods you’re aware of that conflict?

@Vanguard This mod is for v50. It's unlikely that any future update will break it, however some mods break compatibility. Try loading it last in your mod order if the stoneworking options are not showing up.

Of all the mods I was trying to have a conflict with this one, I was least suspecting The Language Overhaul, yet there it is. Enabling both that and this keeps the new options from showing up in the Stoneworker's Workshop.

Is anyone else not able to make Rock Minecarts anymore? I can make all other items out of rock afaict, but the ability to craft rock minecarts is gone.

Currently going through my mods to see if any conflict

PSA: This does not work while playing as a runic dwarf civilization (deep dwarves mod).
You need to play as a regular dwarven civ. Load order didnt seem to matter.

@Captain.Rainbosa I'm a bit apprehensive about suggesting to mess with load orders. Early on when I tested this, it would only some times work, I would generate dozens of worlds, and it was very inconsistent with when which mod would actually load in. In other cases I heard it can even break save games, that conflict of having mods which say to overwrite a game file (most common cause of conflicts, think mods that overhaul the dwarf race in some way, although if written wrong even minor mods can cause the issue) and one that only modifies, this was somehow breaking the game regardless of load order. I'm not sure if this has been fixed yet, but if messing with the load order has helped, do report further if there are any issues.

@thijs I've investigated this. I don't think there is a way due to limitations with what you can do with custom reactions, to have the game not use blocks in this way. It looks like the game has no way to distinguish "economic" blocks, like it does with regular boulders/stone, so it doesn't limit it's use.

There might be a way to restrict economic stones entirely, but I don't want to disallow people from being able to make golden furniture if they want. It seems to me that that economic blocks have no use other than in construction, and furniture made from gold blocks can still be melted down, so I think it's a minor inconvenience we have to deal with. I'd recommend using DF hack to specify furniture building materials.

It seems the blocks variants actually do not take the material into account. I've set it to auto-make rock bins (blocks) and I end up with golden bins made (I assume) from golden blocks. I don't think this should be happening...

@Bruce Wayne I've not tried 50.10 yet, but looking at the patch notes it doesn't look like there's been any major changes to the way mods are handled so it should all work fine.
