Since this mod has been reported working in 1.5 I added it to the No Version Warning-mod

It works fine with 1.5

I've try "Annimals logic" which is working great for most feature. But there is no (more ?) feature to make animal eating hay :(
If anyone has a replacement solution...

For those waiting on a 1.5 update still, Animals Logic has this functionality and is updated.

It may be worth mentioning that the popular tweaks-mod Animal Controls includes this exact feature, so there's no need for a user to install both.

Press F for Bull 1
he leaves to cherish his memory his wives cow 1, cow 2 and cow 5, his daughters, cow 3, cow 4, and his son and replacement, bull 2.

But why only hay? Can you make a mod, so that I could tame animals with any food they are able to eat. Even with lavish meals - if I choose to - why not?

I cannot fathom *why* this is not part of the base game. I can understand some logic with taming & training (you need to give the animal something special), but feeding downed animals? Come on!

On a serious note, I think Animals Logic or Animal controls or graze up has always stopped this from happening to me as one of them allows simple meals to feed animals (which includes pemmican); but you are right it's a silly oversight.

The fact that you had to make this mod explains why my great herds were a PITA. Thank you.

Even if i never have this situation happen to me I'm still subscribing just to decry the the ridiculousness of the situation! Poor Bull 1, gone too soon.

Ah, I am enlightened - though I didn't see that change in the recent notes. It's been at least a year since I played last, so maybe it happened a while ago.

This Mod DOES NOT WORK with V1.3 .

I checked the files and noticed that it uses the V1.4 C-Sharp for both. Loading this Mod in my Mod-intense saved game caused every colonist to simultaneously spam the same error (something about a Thought claiming a non-existent colonist being un-buried) every millisecond. I had added this Mod and a Mod that added a sofa to my V1.3 saved game, and nothing else.

Animals can eat hay on their own, but they can't be fed hay by a colonist. So, for example, if you have a downed herbivore your colonists can only feed it rice or corn or whatever. It's most likely an unintended effect from disallowing hay when taming

WTF? I know hay was being used to tame animals in 1.3. If you can't feed it to animals, why on <whatever planet this is> would you grow it?

Even in 1.4 I've seen non-carnivore animals in a pen eat from the shelf full of hay. What exactly did they change in 1.4 that you are fixing?

Wait, how did you make this Patch? There are a lot of things I'd like to see made usable for taming animals that I could add myself.

@Tokido Saya irl chickens tend to destroy or steal other chickens eggs to feed themselves... also they break the shell to small pieces to get calcium
