Kroak: (I really dig "Lord Rukt'uk" from your comment) 1) Cujiatlaoatzalli = "a hard baked frog" (lol), 2) -Necauhca = A relic of remains of someone.

Note: These are in order of me finding the words, nothing else. Then, I didn't have time for Maya ideas :(. And finally, I defo don't know any grammar, so some of these are weird. I'd love to know what to change the few odd words (like the verbs) into personal nouns/titles - like "one who _____s" Example "To silence things" --> "Silencer of things", etc.

Inspired by your replies, I dug into a online Nahuatl dictionary (https://nahuatl.wired-humanities.org/) for alternative LL name inspirations if anyone else is interested in this:

Oxyotl: 1) Tentzaama = Silencer (to silence things), 2) Imacaxoni = worthy of being feared

Nakai: 1) Yancuiyo = First Born, 2) Cauhlta = Forest, 3) Achane = Homeless One, 4) Ahuic Yani = Wanderer

Tehenhauin: 1) Manoqui = Elevated One (~enlightened), 2) Tlaachtopa Itoani = Prophet, 3) Tlatocateopixqui = Ruler Priest

Tiktakto: 1) Zozotimani = to touch and pierce something such as the sky, 2) Tzitzimitl = a divine or sacred force of the sky that could torment people on earth; a "demon of the air"; a "demon of darkness"

Thanks guys! I've uploaded a fix, so there shouldn't be any stray Lizardmen names for other factions. In any case, if you do catch one, please write it down and let me know here exactly which name you see that does not correspond.

@Solmyr thanks for the report, will take a look this weekend. It was working with the last patch before this, but yeah, there's probably been some things that've been moved around.

This needs an update because some names are being assigned to other factions. I've seen Skaven named Xoloitzcuintli and a Vampire Coast lord named Zempoaltecatl. I assume it's because the name tables have changed in the last two years.

Lord Kroak's name is also a play on the fact that he's, you know, croaked (dead)... :p

And Tehenhauin I believe originally started as "teeny-weeny".

... nobody said GW were grown adults.

Anyway, that's how I'd do it. Thanks for the question, I had lots of fun thinking about this.

My second option would be to make an english-mayan combo: Lord Croac Muuch (maybe Kroac Muuch), which would be a fun version of the english onomatopoeia + the mayan word to indicate which kind of toad we're speaking of. It's silly, fun, and weird enough to be a fantasy name too. The advantage of this one is that it's possibly funny to both english and maya speakers.

That's just one example, we'd have to think through each name, because "Mazdamundi" - as much as I like it - sounds persian, Nakai is straight up japanese, but then "Chakax" is an actual mayan word that means "scar" - they might've done that on purpose, but if we go by "Kroq-Gar" it's a stretch... and so on. Funnily enough, some skink lord/hero names are not *too* bad. "Tehenhauin" means nothing but is similar enough to nahuatl grammar, however the more correct version would be "Tehenahuin"; "Oxyotl" is the same - it should be "Oxoyotl"... and so on.

Thanks NomadicOsiris! That's an excellent question! I'd give just one example: Lord Kroak. It's perhaps the silliest and simplest of them all. I would respect the original intent: it's an onomatopoietic word for the sound toads make, that looks weird enough to be a fantasy name. I couldn't find the equivalent in nahuatl (though we've got "cueyatl" for frog and "tamasoli" for toad); in maya they actually use the onomatopoeia and the word "muuch" (toad/frog) to designate the different kinds of toads/frogs (so "wo muuch" is a certain kind of toad that sounds like a person vomiting - there's many other such muuch variants); I've only found "rukt'uk" as the equivalent in a certain regional quechua. So, apparently easy, but actually kinda difficult. My first option would be to use the most direct equivalent, which would be the quechua, so we'd get "Lord Rukt'uk". Fun, also weird enough to be a fantasy name.

I love this mod. and I have a question for the creator or any of the speakers of these languages, if you could rename the lizardmen legendary lords and heroes to anything using this same concept, what would you choose and why?

Have you installed the Assembly Kit? It's better to have it installed just in case, even if you don't use it.

Again, this is all in RPFM, don't open this in any other program.

After generating the dependencies, in RPFM the bottom left section (titled "Dependencies") should have a folder called "Game Files". Open that folder, it should give you a bunch of other folders, of which you want to go to "text", if you open it you'll see the "db" folder, and then you'll see a bunch of .loc files. The one you want is just called "names".

@Captain Freakout I don't quite understand if I should look for the file in the WH3 game folder -> data file -> text file or in the data.pack -> text
In any case I can't find anything in those locations.
I did generate the dependencies but it didn't change anything.

That's weird, did you generate the dependencies correctly in RPFM?

@Krasus in the game files they're under Game Files/text/db/names.loc. You need to identify the ranges of Kislev names and simply make, in your pack, database entries that replace them.

@Captain Freakout Where can I find the name files? I'm looking using RPFM but can't find it. It is in data.pack -> text -> db ? I can't find anything like this. I wanted to do something similar for Kislev

Hey everyone, I don't see any overlapping names after the addition of Chorfs, they used a new range set that I also don't *think* overlaps with Beans' own mod. But if you see anything weird, please let me know.

@Krasus don't know if it's only possible with RPFM, but I did use RPFM for this. There's a Text section in the databases that has the title "Names". You need to identify the numbers that correspond to the faction that you want to modify, and then make a mod that overrides them. The other way to do it is how Beans did with "More Character Names", adding a whole new section of names for the game to pull from, and that way you won't replace any names.

@Captain Freakout Can you tell which game file you need to edit to change the names of a particular race/faction? I like your mod and would like to do something similar for e.g. Skaven or Kislev. Is this done with the Rusted PackFile Manager only?

@Seiras haha I know, I actually liked a few of the original names - in fact, there's a few I left in, but don't tell anyone. It's cool that you looked for an Aztec name generator, now you don't need to ;D. And I hope we get some sort of actual African rep from ambitious mods like OvN, who are doing Araby already, I think it would be amazing, even if there's next to zero lore.

Idk man...Ga'tor is a perfectly cultured name for a Kroxigor lord. In all seriousness though, I do appreciate the correction of some of the silly names they have. I usually end up renaming all my lizard lords and heroes to something more Aztec/Mayan/Incan sounding. No joke I literally looked up Aztec name generator to name all my lizards in a hexoatl campaign. I named all of the lizards down by Gor'Rok and Lizard ♥♥♥♥♥ after Incans. The ones from Tiqtaqto and Kroq-gar's factions had African names. Weird I know...but it's part of the Great Plan.
