You might have conflicting addons or files.
I didn't, they were removed with the original author as they were broken.
The sparks are removed if you mean fixed by that.
The fire axe, it's mentioned in the description.

This would indeed be classified as a reskin as the I've edited/updated the original release, while I'm not even sure you can "add" new weapons to L4D2 but as far as this addon goes it replaces the Axe (replacing items does not refer to being a reskin, rather than that it's just a replacement skin or simply put a "skin)
