Ah so it was due to an old imbalancing issue. I could see those with a ton of heavy mounts being very strong. Would it be a possibility to undo that locking now or do you plan to keep it as is? Mostly just curious.

During the earlier days of neb modding we had a couple mod balance fight nights on the main neb discord. One big thing was that HEAT heavy plasma turrets could be mounted on OSP Bulk Liners

What are P4-Liners? I understand the Super Heavy turrets now, makes sense only Super Heavy ships can use them. I also now see that ANS does have access to the Heavy turrets. I thought i had checked that but i must have missed it. Is there any way to fix the Liners thing stopping other factions from using your Heavy turret variants? I adore the Heat turrets and would love to use anything more than Medium turrets on some other factions.

@Sylvan Laphroaig P4-liners are to blame for the faction locking to ANS.

Superheavies go on supercapital-class vessels with the appropriate mount size like the stuff from Comet's Supercapitals and the Lucrehulk BB in the star wars mod.

Marduk I think also has some appropriately sized mounts

@Dysthymaeon C4 and up is faction locked to ANS, spinal idk don't have a model

@Humacaw there is no way to add weapons to vanilla fighters as of current

I've noticed all of the "Heavy" turret variants are only visible for selection on ships from your own modded fleets and no where else, not even the vanilla fleets, but there's even some turrets your own ships can't even use cause none of them have a large enough hardpoint, the Super Heavy turrets are all 9x1x9. The only ship you have that can use them is the missile launcher spot on the Alicorn ship in Aegir, which doesnt work since it's internal.

Any thoughts on making a C4/C5 mounts that use med plasma? Maybe instead of extra fire rate, could make it similar to the OCELOT from prism, very accurate with very fast traverse rate to take out lighter, faster ships, IE, shuttles and frigates.

Is there any chance you could investigate the flickering issue this mod causes? The only common thing I can pin down with folk that experience it is AMD GPUs, but that isn't much to go on. My theory is it may be somehow model detail related. It doesn't happen when there's a small number on a ship, and it affects the c1 guns mod and 50mm vulcan mod as well, which both feature detailed rounded barrels and complex turret geometry

I did throw out a patch that make their damage model operate like vanilla AP which seens to have lowered their kill speed a decent amount

It hadn't occurred to me that that was the case but I do really adore the modeling work and weapon concepts and I would love to use this more. Even if it ends up being that each weapon is basically just a reskin of basegame weapons, I just love using these things. That's all, but good to know that my friends' complaints is at least somewhat founded.

HEAT has very much turned into a "look at the funny laser bolts" mod, non-faction component mods are kinda inherently unbalanced

I'll probably look at the mediums again in the near future since I actually want to use the weapons more in some campaigns

I have one small question regarding the medium and heavy plasma charges. Why does the medium plasma have a guaranteed penetration depth of a kilometer? That seems a bit misbalanced to me. Are my friends just mad that I'm dumpstering on them or is there a misvalued attribute to these weapons? Saw values using the 'show hidden values' mod.

I do and I do get the black flickering frames issue, exclusively with modded weapons or ships.

I think the intended accuracy/numbers on the P4/5 Heavy Plasma Cannons is off by a fair amount? The description says their accuracy is worse than 450mm, but also indicates their accuracy as being 70 meters at 10 km. Meanwhile, Mk.66/68 indicates its accuracy is 87 meters at 10 kilometers.

Ah okay, I'll just test against something lighter, but if it isn't that than I think this might be some weird mod conflict, like how M1 Shields Mod made everyone invincible, shields or no, in its latest update.

They struggle against that, I can push the pen higher but with their 8.5km range they may just become too good at stripping armor

No, I was firing at a 30cm armor facing (flat) of a Thalmes from PRISM, and a Alliance Heavy Cruiser. It should've pierced both and done at least 1 damage. The L2's said they had 62.5cm/sec of pen. 180 seconds of 0 damage.
