I know this map is dead, But anyone know why the Skybox is broken?
The upper sky is Night with stars, but the surrounding part is Day/Dusk.

You've GOT to be kidding me. Of all possible addons, it was the "Friendly Combine and Hostile Rebels" addon that slowed it down?! OMG. Yeah Fox, you were right. Also, make sure people aren't running "Extended Renderer" or either, god forbid BOTH, WILL slow this map down to a crawl.

@Lunneth Arc just done testing, max settings my PC is the same since years aswell, my map runs above 70fps all times. See if you dont have any addon which is heavy to pull, and well,

I can try to lower the map ceiling (sky) that will cut visibility a lot, less chunks to render but the player wont be able to fly that high, would clip outside of the map sooner than expected and the skybox would be less noticeable

Doesn't help I have a decade old Laptop. =_= Though before the 11.27 Update, I could run it and enjoy it...even with starfighters in the sky.

Havent tried post-update, but lets just say Source just doesnt like open-world maps, you have exceptions like freespace and bigcity but those maps have barely any entities, not even prop and models. Here im pushing it all to the extreme. But i'll take a look.

Keep in mind, the map being a perfect square with visibility from all of its corners to another there isnt much to hide, and source is an engine literally made for rooms and corridors (with the sly being the roof) thats how it calculates visibility In any case, remember I have no problems giving the clean VMF files of this map. Anyone can have it.

I don’t know why, but what compiler did you use to compile the map? I’m trying to make a modification to the map where it looks like a power outage but I’m having issues with compiling it, and the compiled map is not the full map as well with the windows not actually working.

actually.... I went to google images and searched for this "mooon.png" and simply downloaded one! Then turned it into a .vtf file and gave it its .vmt file properties which turn it into a sprite texture

in-game vanilla shaders category, look in post process effects, sandbox mode of course. shader modification and play with the values, then combine with sun rays.. because the moon is actually the sun. yes i know thats how source engine works, the moon is just the sun with a different texture.

using nav_generate_increment you can set range , the place you want it to create and much more that is what i m doing right now as we speak slowly pointing a center place and the range and saying it to generate part by part its slow but sure

Yes, you can make nav meshes in smaller sizes, but it still takes a long ass time for bigger maps, so I recommend making it when you know you have time to do so.

I HIGHLY don't recommend that you try to edit the nav mesh manually as it can screw with alot of things. nav_generate by itself has no problems with doing it's job, so I wouldn't waste that much time screwing with it as it could also just end up in poor quality and confuse the AI if nodes are too close together.

IT just takes time..... OR, we're both doing it wrong, I was told by a friend that NAV meshes can be done in stages and in smaller ammounts. Using different commands I dont really know and sounds like a pain to me but maybe I'm wrong....

any chance of nav_mesh ? it have info nodes but not work for npcs
