Also, there's the fact that 8648 and 8701 are two of the oldest surviving Dash-9s in existence, as they were some of the first ones built. Imo, that would make them worthy of being museum pieces, and IRM would jump on saving them in half a second if they had been given the chance to do so. I can only wonder. . .
(By the way, the reason they got their old CNW-style numberboards back is because their UP-issued numberboards were stolen while they were in storage at IRM)
