any time you download ANY sound replacement mod just put snd_restart in the console and it'll work

for anyone having sound issues, use snd_restart command in console, will do you wonders, then restart the game. Will help fix broken audio issues or it just not sounding as intended, helps the audio cache overall.

I haven't even downloaded this, but I'm stuck with half-life 1 footstep sounds and same goes for the flashlight too.

I don't there are uncompressed versions of the sounds, they were shipped with the original game like that.

yeah restart gmod in order for it to work, not sure why but yeah
also I seem to be getting incorrect footstep sounds like hl1 npcs make a hl1 footstep sounds while mine is different hmm maybe a bug that the developer has to fix

For people that wonder how to reset the sounds to default:
Just unsubscribe then restart the game. Almost any sound, model or textures replacement mods require a restart of the game when uninstalling
