although for me I just took a couple of ship designs I found on the workshop that I thought were cool and tried to make my own style based off of those.

It doesn't stack with other spotlights, but it does stack with other accuracy bonus modules like crow's nests and telescopes.

The only way to even possibly add that as a feature, as far as I'm aware, is modifying whats hardcoded in the game via Unity. That would mean the mod wouldn't be compatible with the Steam Workshop, and would have to be completely redone every single time the game was updated.

its not really possible to make the beam differentiate between day & night unfortunately, so you cant have it turn off
