Tal'Raziid 8. feb. 2018 kl. 11:28
Hey, could this be made smaller, to be a man-portable grapple?
AzureAssaulter 22. juli 2016 kl. 9:41
also is this large or small grid block
AzureAssaulter 13. juli 2016 kl. 11:00
and how do you pull in and can you make a mod version and make less steps
Alex Blues! Pesquisando O.V.N.I. 23. apr. 2016 kl. 15:25
Wow! Nice! I will take a look (Brasil) :steamhappy:
ceebee 4. apr. 2016 kl. 0:48
I may use a similar concept for a WIP mech.
MK84  [ophavsmand] 5. dec. 2015 kl. 2:10
Because this was created a long time ago before mod/blueprint support was introduced to the game.
Lord 4. dec. 2015 kl. 18:19
This looks amazing, but is there a reason this is a 'world' and not a mod/blueprint? What we need to be able to do (for building in gravity, i.e. planetary) is build cranes, gantries, lifts, tugs, and so on so we can move stuff around, re-attach (merge) things, or dock without being in control. See KAS mod for Kerbal Space Program. :p
Xenon 22. mar. 2015 kl. 10:34
is it a world o blueprint
Warcry4007 20. jan. 2015 kl. 5:07

"Get over here!"
MK84  [ophavsmand] 7. sep. 2014 kl. 6:01
@The Abyss, a standalone version? Hmm it's doable. I'll add it to my list of things to do.
Spaceleviathan 2. sep. 2014 kl. 14:23
anyway you could build a grappling hook module. Something the community could paste in or copy building into their ships? Tried to carve one out of this but keep destroying it when implementing
Eclipse Tech 13. aug. 2014 kl. 16:48
You could build a version of this on a station so it can hook passing ships.
Irony Man 17. juli 2014 kl. 9:13
Okay. Thanks.
MK84  [ophavsmand] 17. juli 2014 kl. 7:57
Yeap you certainly could build a single. Reason I went with dual hooks is for load-balancing. Single hooks tend to have a harder time winching in very big ships.
Irony Man 17. juli 2014 kl. 7:44
I meant just one hook, one chain, one spool. After taking a closer look at some of your pictures, it looks like it works pretty well.
MK84  [ophavsmand] 16. juli 2014 kl. 10:39
You could join several spool together into one winch ie run two or more lines on one winch. The only issue you might run into is whether or not the large rotor can provide enough torque to turn it.
Irony Man 16. juli 2014 kl. 9:42
Okay. I was thinking about making a pirate/salvager version. Does it work with only one hook?
MK84  [ophavsmand] 16. juli 2014 kl. 3:15
It still has the same winch speed limitation of the Mk.1, up to 2 m/s. You could go faster if the mass of the ship you're winching is lighter, ie the cargo ships.
Irony Man 15. juli 2014 kl. 10:05
Is the retrieval any faster than mk.1?
Irony Man 15. juli 2014 kl. 10:03
This, I think, is by far the best thing on the workshop. At least, in my opinion.
cripto130 15. juli 2014 kl. 7:38
thanks
MK84  [ophavsmand] 13. juli 2014 kl. 1:06
Turn on the group "Winch (Both)"
cripto130 11. juli 2014 kl. 20:05
how do i reel it in?
MK84  [ophavsmand] 6. juli 2014 kl. 22:13
LoL everyone keep telling me that. I must watch that show one day.
Rigante 6. juli 2014 kl. 16:55
Nice design & that last image really reminds me of Outlaw Star!
Fastmadcow 6. juli 2014 kl. 15:54
Wow... Thats ever better than the first one you made great work :3
nobu 5. juli 2014 kl. 21:11
it worked with other addons MK84, and it sometimes happened on other addons but ill try again
Soullesswaffle 5. juli 2014 kl. 17:21
Awesome, but impractical. [tvtropes.org] I hope something like this makes it into the actual game as a weapon.
MK84  [ophavsmand] 5. juli 2014 kl. 9:28
>oG Ξxphiser919, try again. Maybe Steam Workshop was down at the time.
=7Cav=RET.Broström.A | Evul 5. juli 2014 kl. 7:06

OWT_wales 4. juli 2014 kl. 16:08
+ 1
MK84  [ophavsmand] 4. juli 2014 kl. 6:21
I did. At that speed the rotor on the grappler arms rarely survive.

There are three ways to increase speed and acceleration for this setup.
1. Additonal Mass block.
2. Additional gravity generators.
3. Reduced braking torque on the winch.

Any adjustments made to the first 2 would require finetuning of number 3.
Al'Bjorn 4. juli 2014 kl. 4:17
Amazing desgin you have, have you ever tested the grapple launcher with more than just 1G? Causing the "hooks" to shot out faster?
Team Triss 4. juli 2014 kl. 0:57
You, sir, are a God among men.
MK84  [ophavsmand] 3. juli 2014 kl. 21:52
Ah.... factions are here. I'll have a look.
Buzzard 3. juli 2014 kl. 21:22
Denisamichael1 - We just had a patch, giving ownership of blocks. You may need to do some work. Read the 1.037 patchnotes and watch the video.
