This mod gives you items when you START according to a specific class and level of progression, and only when you start.
Please actually use a mod before giving it criticism.

once the new update comes by with that new 1 to 3 loadout thing, this mod will become completley useless. i mean that, i am speaking facts tho

As of the latest tmodloader stable patch (v2022.5.103.15), and this mod's latest version (v0.1.6), the loadout kit is consumed when right clicked, but no items are granted.

@Manicblockminer thanks for posting this! I just installed this mod and tried it and found it wasn't working either. I am also using WeaponDisplay, so I'll just disable it.

I figured out that WeaponDisplay causes the mod to break for some reason. Not sure why, it just does.

@manicblockminer hmm that's really strange - could it possibly be a problem with one of the mods you're running along side this one?

Of course it's hard to pin down but I ran this one with around 50 mods yesterday and I was able to open all of the pre-boss kits successfully and they all worked, including the builder kit.

I tried right-clicking the kits both in the hotbar and also in the main inventory.

Hope you can get it solved somehow.

The only thing that would stop it from working (at least id assume) is you using the preview version. I updated it on stable so more people who play to actually play would be able to use it. If it doesnt work for you on stable then i have no clue, but preview is understandable and i can’t really do anything about that

@manicblockminer after deleting you might not only have to restart the game, but also restart steam to reinstall it.

Thanks, and I tested the melee starter kit and ranger starter kit pre-boss and both work!

By the way, what is the appropriate way to update mods to newer versions?
I noticed that for a different mod I once got a button in the 'manage mods' interface called 'update with dependencies", but this button is not consistently showing up for mods that update after initial subscription. Your update today doesn't show me the update button.

Are we generally supposed to manually use the Steam Workshop to Unsubscribe and Resubscribe?

Or are we supposed to disable the mod in tmodloader and delete it from there, then re-"download with dependencies" through tmodloader?

Seems like I figured out the issue: it was caused by a dichotomy between the stable and preview builds. Needless to say, I started modding on stable rather than preview and it seems to be working fine. Update the mod to 0.1.4 and it should be good, but lmk if theres still something wrong

Hello @Just Req ,

I want to also add that I had the same experience as big fella over there on 1.4 stable, the inventory flickers when I right click the kit both when it's in hotbar and the main inventory. I thought this was an issue with my modlist (perhaps one of the mods added right click functionality or something that interferes with right clicking the kit...) because on one trial run the kit disappeared with no items coming from it, but I could not replicate it being used up again on another trial run.

If it makes a difference I think the first trial run was a ranger pre-boss kit and the second trial run MIGHT have been a melee pre-boss kit IIRC... or maybe it was ranger as well.

I wasn't very thorough, but let me add to this; on 1.4-Stable, the inventory flickers when the kit is clicked on but nothing happens and the kit isn't consumed. On 1.4-Preview, the kit appeared to open and was consumed, but no items were granted.

Hey, thanks for the feedback BlacKoruja! Just wanted to clarify that all of the game stage options give the most optimal loadout for that stage, which is why the pre-boss one is so over-powered. I could include a starter one maybe though, nice suggestion :steamthumbsup:

This mod is really good, but could I make a suggestion? I think the "Pre-Boss" class is a bit OP, I suggest creating an option like "Starter" just to give the player items of the class, for example giving the Summonner the following:
1x Slime Staff
4x Life Crystal
4x Mana Crystal
etc..
