We have some of these around the corner from where I live. The neighborhood also has many of the small single-story bungalow, Craftsman, and American Classical Revival homes. These are all built in the 1910s to 1930s time frame for the mill workers who worked in the many shoe factories that once supported the city.

When the houses were built, these factories hired 25,000 workers. Today, those factories are empty or have been turned into expensive lofts and small boutique shops.
