When it triggers, this skill seems to duplicate a randomly selected item in a container. So, for example, instead of getting one or two new books in a bookshelf, you get additional copies of one of the books already present. It'd be nice if it instead generated loot using the same random loot table the container normally uses.

Also, if loot respawn in on, does the skill roll again when the loot respawns?

Also also, does the skill roll separately for each player on a server?

mod not working on multiplayer. I got scavenger bonus and found 280 9x19 bullets but when i picked them up i got only 20. same with sandbags i got 3 instead of 18

Foraging is going out and looking for stuff on the ground, this is more like looking through bins and finding a use for previously useless junk. It's basically more loot as a skill.

When do new chances for this skill to work on the same area? is it setup to to have another chance of extra loot when the normal container would refresh loot?

If I disable the anti cheat of my zomboid server, will it solve this mod's issue with anti cheat? I would assume so, but sometimes mods be weird

@Woof No idea. Perhaps Steam was being dumb with downloading the mod. Sometimes it feels like pulling teeth to get workshop items to properly download/update/install. Glad to hear that part's working now.

Update: didn't work for past 3 days, and today it works all of a sudden. I don't think either of us changed anything.

@Ryougi the issue we were having was that the skill wasn't even appearing in our list of skills, weren't finding books or anything either. The Driving skill was working fine though, seeing as it's by the same guy that struck me as being odd.

@Woof From what I saw, the issue- at least the one I found- was that the mod was adding items client-side only, and not server-side, which was causing items to have duplicate IDs and be removed from your inventory unless you did not transfer them to the floor first. I'm not familiar with exactly how the client-server split is done on Zomboid, as it looks to me, at least from a cursory inspection, that a lot of code that should be run exclusively server-side is run from the client, or, at least, without server authority.

What problem are you having exactly?

Man, I just can not figure out why this mod's not working in multiplayer with my buddy. The driving skill one works just fine, but somehow this one doesn't feel like it.

So, I seem to have fixed the issue with items disappearing if you don't move them to the ground first. This seems to have been caused by items being added solely client-side, and not added to the server, instead of an anti-cheat issue.

I have confirmed that it seems to be properly increasing the amount of items (at least at Scavenger 10, which was the sanest way to test it. Did number double? It's working).

This involved editing a few lines- I think it was eight- of a single function. I will post a pastebin of the function. It's "ScavengerSkill_Scavenger" in ScavengerSkillMain.lua.

How does the bonus loot config work? what do the numbers do, as in setting above or below 110. Is it quality of loot or is there two rolls for getting extra loot?

Hello. I made an "Easy Packing For Some modded books" mod, which allows to pack books from this mod in the same way as "Easy Packing + Organized Storage" mod do for vanilla books.

Still works in MP, kinda. Only thing that procs XP is warehouse crates containing sacks of fruit/veggies. That's about all I've seen so far.

Exclude books and magazines maybe. Double the loot for the same book makes little sense. Increasing rolls instead of doubling would be even better. Subbed to most of your mods.

@MusicManiac Unless they change how MP loot spawns it wont work in MP. Loot in Mp is pre determined once anyone enters a chunk, meaning even if they dont check any containers and are just passing, the loot will already have been generated. This is also why Lucky and Unlucky are non functional in Mp to prevent someone just driving around with unlucky to ruin loot spawns

Hey, so I posted on forums suggesting some anti-cheat options (since you said that it's anti-cheat problem that mod doesn't work properly in multi-player), and I got reply from Indie Stone. They say it's not anti-cheat problem. Apparently you need to spawn in items in multi-player differently than in single player, maybe you should look into that. Hope it helps, this mod is too good to NOT be working in multiplayer :D

I'm pretty sure this is AntiCheat busting up "created" items to prevent against people hacking in items. You can try disabling anti-cheat, but this mod MIGHT be broken on MP till TIS fixes their code. :(

Would it be possible to have special cases for "fresh" foods?

I got a lot of fresh food by being lucky it seems, even while other food spawned by the game is already rotten.

Perhaps you could spawn perishable food in as rotten.

Or at higher levels you can find "stale" food and the highest level allows to find some fresh things.

okay, it duplicated the same crate a second time, so even if it registered my crates as being a part of the natural world because they were placed pre-mod, it still activated a second time, so it may be possible to duplicate items in a natural storage.

So, I added this mod to a save i already had going, and I've noticed (kinda hard to miss) that the scavenging ability works on my placed metal crates. I don't know if this is because they were built before I loaded in the mod or what, but when it activates it duplicates my items and now my melee weapons and gun attachments crate has about 295 crowbars. I'm pretty sure this is a bug, but hey, 493 boxes of shotgun shells in a single crate is kinda nice
