I'm no longer supporting this mod.

The mod is entirely in python.
If you have or know someone that has experience in the python programming language,
they might be able to make it work.

All my mod does is shuffle mods around on the disk, so that BLOPS 3
only sees the mods you want it to see. this is a workaround* for the game's 142 mod list limit.

If you don't have programming experience, you can do the same thing by hand, you just move the mods you don't want, out of the mods folder, then when you done playing make sure to put those mods back before steam thinks it needs to re-download them.

Best of Luck

Try running
"pip install setuptools"
(pip or pip3)

(if your on linux)
If that doesnt fix it, try
installing "python-setuptools"
via your package manager
dnf,apt,etc
bananabus 16. feb. 2024 kl. 23:01

No, as their files would conflict.
This wasn't designed to fix that issue.

This mod manager was designed to solve an issue that
occurs when you have more than ~142 mods downloaded/subscribed
blops3 won't show all the mods/maps.

With this mod manager, you can make sure that blops3
sees the mods/maps you want to play with.

Why write this program in Python?

Because
1. it was easier to write this program in Python

2. By writing the program in Python Script,
You can Review ALL of the code without needing any kind of de-compiler or special editor.
Just open Notepad, GEdit, Nano, Vim, etc and you can review the code

3. Not sure how you would do this in Black ops Mod Tools, plus you couldn't review that code if it was written in the mod tools.

Note: Any Black ops 3 mod, could contain a virus, and without the special Blops 3 editor, you'd never know

Unsub then resub to the mod.
Should Finally work on Windows.

The reason for not using the old version, was because it was held together with spit and chewing gum

Looks like the config.json got corrupted.
Delete the config.json inside the Mod Loader's directory, that should fix it.
husitko 14. nov. 2022 kl. 12:20
Meeeh after some maps updated ... your modloader suddenly stopped working KEKW

Yeah, that's a Windows thing.
Currently my program can't fix that.
But, you can change the file permissions for the Steam Workshop directory
(the directory where steam keeps the mods for all steam games)
I helped the other poster (Taylor) with the same problem, it should work for you as well.

Summery:
You need to give "all programs" the permission to read and write to the entire directory of.
"<Path to your Steam Library here>\steamapps\workshop\content"

This link explains the file permissions and how to change them.

That bug report you sent helped me locate the issue,
it should be fixed now. (as of v3.0.3)

But if the bug isn't fixed,
or another bug pops up,
go ahead and DC me,
or post a topic in the discussions tab.

You might try changing the ownership of the workshop directory to your user.
And don't forget to check the box, to apply the change recursively.
Pickymarker 18. mar. 2022 kl. 8:39
i tired that and it didn't work

Install Python 3.9+
Then run the run_on_windows.bat file
Pickymarker 12. mar. 2022 kl. 18:55
how do you get this to work on windows 11

Hope it works for ya,
and
You're welcome.
Taylor 21. jan. 2022 kl. 23:00
Awesome. I am working on giving my entire drive permissions. 6TB's will take awhile lol. Hopefully it works, thank you!
RusticPasta  [ophavsmand] 21. jan. 2022 kl. 22:56
- Taylor

Oh, yeah that.
Windows File Permissions are the issue here.

You'll have to change the file permissions for the entire steam workshop mods directory.

It can be a little complicated
this should help
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/change-files-and-folders-permissions-in-windows-10

Give "all programs" the ability to read and write permissions to, the entire directory of
"E:\Other SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content"

That should fix the problem

As for what the Mod Manager does.
1. Its made to be a workaround to an issue that occurs when you have more than ~142 mods downloaded.
2. And it's also made to fix a Steam Proton issue with loading video (.mkv) files
The #2 isn't going to be an issue for a windows user, so you can ignore that

Unfortunately the Mod Manager doesn't allow for loading Multiple mods at the same time, just does a bit of file shuffling, in order to get around issue #1
Taylor 21. jan. 2022 kl. 22:45
I'm obviously doing something wrong. Just for clarification, what exactly does the mod do? I'm under the impression it'll allow me to use multiple mods at once. Am I wrong? I also appreciate you taking time out of your day to help me out.
Taylor 21. jan. 2022 kl. 22:43
when I open the "run" button for the python it opens the mod manager as well as a CMD window for windows 10. in the CMD window it tells me all the scripts and gives me all errors. I get all the text thats in the agreement file and errors such as:

File Permission Error when trying to enable staging
[WinError 5] Access is denied: 'E:\\Other SteamLibrary\\steamapps\\workshop\\content\\311210' -> 'E:\\Other SteamLibrary\\steamapps\\workshop\\content\\311210_total'

E drive is my 2nd HDD where some of my games are installed at. the error shows up for all mods I have when trying to stage them after clicking enable mod manager
RusticPasta  [ophavsmand] 21. jan. 2022 kl. 22:37
- Taylor

Hm.
Does it show "error 5" when you hit the "Enable Mod Management" button, or when the program first starts?
Taylor 21. jan. 2022 kl. 22:24
when I do it says windows error 5. I found a video on how to fix it and I did it and nothing changed. how do I stage mods? it tells me it can't stage the mods.
RusticPasta  [ophavsmand] 21. jan. 2022 kl. 21:03
- Taylor

Hit the "Enable Mod Management" button.
and then you'll be good to go.
Taylor 21. jan. 2022 kl. 15:11
on win 10 here, got python installed and i can pull up the mod manager, but I get "Can't Unstage mods! ENABLE STAGING/MANAGING OF MODS FIRST!" What might I be doing wrong?

Looks like python isn't installed on your system.
Install Python 3.9 or above, and try again.
