You know..... I don't know. If CE makes changes to grenade behavior such as aiming and throwing, then perhaps no. But I don't see any direct reason it would be incompatible.

Hey there! Love the mod btw. About the DamageWorker codevfor the bug bombs, will it be fine if you let me borrow and modify it? Planning to use it for the necronoid infection, so that it can only infect humanoids and leave the mechs and insects alone, I'll also mention your name once the update is complete. With the new update the bug bombs don't damage structures any longer, as originally intended.

I would add some insect meat / jelly on the recipe to add flavor to the requirements, great mod btw.

Please consider adding support for the Hivers Mod. They have their own Flesh Type, if I am not mistaken, but they are still insects and should be hurt by the Bug Bombs. You should also add the Trade Tag "AnimalInsect" as something that gets them hurt.

Since you sort of craft the weapon and not the ammo it just has simple crafting requirements like any other weapon, components and steel.
