@UberEpicZach This is great! Need to try.
However, a couple of questions:
- Why "must have an selected Beneficiary"? Why cannot I found a crusader state for myself?
- "must be a duchy within the realm of the Primary Defender" ... Why not secondary defenders' too? For example, IRL the 1st Crusade aimed for Jerusalem but a crusader state was formed as far as in Edessa. It might not belong to the primary defender but to his ally, or even not an ally at all, just the same religion.

Yeah just play Catholic Trinity and this is included in it now.

I tried asking on the discord but haven’t gotten a response. How is the functionality on this currently. Is it broken or just “not updated”?

One would think this would be a feature already in the game, since it's you know CRUSADER kings. But apparently not! Hoping for an update "soon" as it were.

It's not abandoned. Zach was working on getting Catholic Trinity updated first. Now that it is, he'll likely get this one updated soon.

had the same issue as @lazarusblack, for some unknown reason I could not make a crusader state despite having full control over the duchy of sevilla.

What @Aliennate and @firespark84 said. Please make it so we can form crusader states from secondary defender's lands! Usually main defender wont have any other land in middle east outside of the target kingdom, so forming another state is very hard.

If its doable please make it so we can form a state from any defender's lands.

I was able to form a crusader state without any issues, and that's with about 40 mods in my playset

So, the decision to create a crusader state is greyed out, even though I meet all the requirements stated in game. Except 1. Occupy a full duchy. But I do. I hold the full duchy of Antioch and Aleppo. I haven't formed a crusader state before. What gives?

@somerandomnamex Should work fine, this doesn't actually change the crusade mechanics but adds another on top.

Does anyone know if this is still working on the Current CK3 update? It says its out of date in the launcher and its like 1200 in my game now and I still haven't had a single crusade launch lmao

Does anyone know of a mod that helps the AI win crusades? I'd love to see them be able to use dynamic crusades but they don't seem to win vanilla ones!

I was just about to suggest what @aliennate suggested, since irl while the first crusade was targeted to take Jerusalem from the Fatimids, the first crusader state (the county of edessa) was established by baldwin out of the city of edessa which was controlled by the seljuks

Huge, huge fan of this mod : ) Would it be possible to add a rule making it so that the target duchy doesn't have to be in the Primary Defender's land? Sometimes the Fatimids and Seljuks collapse making it very unlikely to have a duchy outside of the target kingdom.

I wanted to set up a chain of Crusader States formed from my Dynasty, but when I sieged down a second full duchy in Jerusalem (I swapped over to the first Crusader State), I couldn't form a new Crusader State. The Crusade Target is Egypt.

Is the mod save file compatible?
