I assume you mean the png import thing, so

1: You need to save a png.

2: Then go into your files and find the png and click on it a few times then it should show up in the place where you can edit it.

3: Then you need to right click “copy as path”.

4: Then go back into rimworld and go to the import png in the flag maker

5: press Ctrl V and remove the .png thing at the end and that's it

THE FOLLOWING IS FOR IF IT IS NOT A PNG. (this could be illegal if the image is copyright

2: Click right click and click “save as”

3: Go back into your files and repeat steps 2 through 5 on the first set of steps, but on the file you clicked as “save as”.

Are the vertical flagpoles supposed to be in front of the flags themselves? I would presume not, just checking in case it's some mod conflict I may have.

If your custom png flag is showing as a red X or red ? resize it to 512x512 in something like MS paint, make sure it is saved as a .png, and place it somewhere outside of OneDrive. Then do the right click copy path delete the quotation marks " and the .png

@Timrath The FlagShape folder contains all geometric shapes, the white part being the cloth part

Which file do I have to edit in order to change the shape of a flag cloth? I can only find completely white textures in the folders, but no geometries. Are those white textures actually the flag shapes?

Can the black background on wall-hanging flags also be disabled? Unchecking "Show flag outline" in the mod menu doesn't affect it.

Custom flags working perfectly. You must have a png image. Then right click the file and click "copy as path". Then you open the flag design and click import png. You paste the path to the image. After that, you delete the quotation marks in the beggining and the end of the path, and dele the ".png". Example:
"C:\Users\ARMS\Pictures\RimworldFlags\cats.jpg" >>>>>>> C:\Users\ARMS\Pictures\RimworldFlags\cats

To make colonists carry the flag, you have to craft a wereable flag in the machining table

Custom .png flags do not work. I tried it in every variation and even followed the comment where he said you should add an \ to the end. IT DOESN'T WORK.

for people having issues saving. first save a blank design than after saving a blank flag design your flag when you are finished designing overwrite the blank flag design. you now have a saved flag

Does importing PNG not work on linux? I copied the path exactly, without the .png, but it just gives a red X.

This is like the culmination of all my dreams. Flags, in Rimworld? Actual, moving, designable flags? A miracle. Thank you for the maintenance, and if the author ever sees this, thank you too for the gem of a mod.

I figured out with the custom pngs that you have to right click and copy the address
(The long bar on your files explorer, Ex. This PC > (E:) > "Folder")

In whatever folder you have with your images, then paste the address in the "Import PNG", after you pasted the address I just add a, \ at the end of the address with the entire name of the png picture you want. For example with MY folder is "E:\Pictures\RandomCrap\Dog". If you aren't sure if your picture is a PNG, press Alt + Shift + P for the Details Pane then click on the picture, it'll tell you what type it is. Hope this helps with people!

Hey there, I noticed that importing PNGs doesn't work and ends up with a red X, even when I remove the .png extension as instructed. Is it possible that you could take a look at the code and fix this? I was really eager to use this mod but it seems like the part of it I wanted to use is broken. I understand if you don't have time or patience to fix it, but I really do want to use this mod.

uploading pngs works fine for me.

@Squishyraccoon28 I did not create the mod so I cannot answer what the reasoning behind it is. You may need to ask that to the original author if you would like an answer.
A tip is also to use a better tone to people that give you things for free.

why the hell do you use IDs for custom flag I know it was like that in the original but that doesnt mean you cant use a better system

Is there a recommended size for the custom flags? I note that the FlagTest.png file is 512px x 512px at 96 dpi but most of the flag images I want to use have different dimensions - longer width vs height and under 512px.
