I could get rid of the check. You still need the item in the pet slot anyway otherwise it has no way of pulling the pet name

I think I was misled in my thinking because the pets are re-summonable even while the slots remain hidden;
-Only the initial toggle to "Hidden" de-summons the pets but doesn't prevent any re-summoning after the fact.
-And re-summoning the pets manually doesn't make the slots "Visible".
...So I just never changed them back :DSTpoop:

Yeah, it explicitely checks for the slot being "Visible", as normally the pet also despawns if that is "Hidden"

Hey! I managed to figure out what my problem was.

If the pet/ light pet slot is allocated as 'hidden' then the naming system won't update until you make sure the slots are 'Visible'.

can you name one specific pet with which it doesn't work?
Do vanilla pets work?

Is the name appearing on hover/ mouseover working for you RN?

The naming and chat-autofill-to-rename is working fine but for some reason the names wont show on either a pet or a light pet.

I tested with just PetRenamer and Calamity + Calamity Vanities mods (testing two pets from those two mods).
