The themes/play-styles of the individual heroes is well-done and they were designed thoughtfully to promote cooperation between players as they determine their card choices and attacking order. I'm only two encounters deep at the moment, but the status ailments and status effects feel pretty well balanced and incorporated into combat...
I don't have any experience with the DnD 5e campaign also called Veil of Ruin, so as far as story goes, I'm flying by the seat of my pants and creating my own head-cannon narrative. I have ye tto try the PVP game mode, but initial impressions of PVE lead me to believe it will be a blast. There seems to be a lot of content in the works for this Progressive Deckbuilding RPG experience and it sounds exciting. More heroes, more game modes, etc. I'll leave it up to the devs to announce the specifics in their own time though.
