There's the other children mod for 1.4/1.5 and it's still up. I don't think Ludeon cares much (so as long you don't make use of the DLC's systems). We seriously need more childhood/parenting mods for BioTech as it's not that deep enough :|

RE: TOS: Maybe it'd be worth an email if possible? If nothing else, if you have an interest in working on this thing again, I'd love some of this functionality with Biotech. One of the things I miss most about this mod is the kids running around and playing with each other. ...and the little nugget looking babies that were around in earlier versions hehe

I doubt it, as the biotech DLC doesn't solely focus on the babies and kids.

@I.R.R.I.S.H. they take ideas yes but not directly the same as the mods. The code is different as well. Would you want to work for free to make something from a mod an official part of the game? I'll tell you now... That's a NO from me so I actually find it acceptable to pay for DLC.

@Incursion Tynan already has locked features that should be in the base game behind a paywall. Dude, he just takes features that are already implemented by mods and charges money for them while releasing updates that break the mods that provided those features for free. It's a really ѕhitty, scummy business practice.

@cometopapa That is completely understandable. I also doubt that people would even pick this mod up, as if they have enough time to mod the game, they likely enjoy the game enough to purchase the dlc for it. Which thus, again, gives devolopers no reason to develop the mod, much like your predicament.

On a kinda unrelated topic of my own opinion:
Many people have been saying that children from biotech should have been base game, I agree. Tynan locking such an important feature behind DLC is some EA with TS4 and Paradox with all their games level of greed, imo. I hope that rimworld doesn't become like TS4 and lock features which should be in the base game behind a paywall, Though, IMO I think that rimworld already has most features it really needs in it already. The only missing feature is children and pregnancy.

(Though maybe ideology should be in base game too? Honestly, I've never played a game without it.)

I feel like having a native solution to babies and children with the DLC, I feel discouraged to develop this. I used to develop this because I used it too, but since DLC came out I have been using that one.

As others were saying, there appears to be a 1.5 version on github ( https://github.com/canefe/BabiesAndChildren )

Download and then Install it either manually (download source code as a zip then extract into LOCAL mods folder) or clone it using git into your LOCAL mods folder.

The local mods folder is located in your games root folder.

As to how well it works on 1.5? I don't know. I already own biotech so I have no need to test it out, you'll have to figure out how well it works on your own.

You buy the official DLc once, and you will not need to worry about mods like this one.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE UPDATE THIS MOD!... Me ever being able to enjoy playing this game again depends on it... I absolutely REFUSE to buy the overpriced biotech, there is nothing in that DLC I want other than being able to have children, something I got for free from this mod... Anytime I have played this since then I have played on 1.3 just so I can use this mod. Now pretty much all of the other mods I enjoyed have been updated to 1.5 so they are broken on 1.3. My mods list has shrunk dramatically because of it. I don't want to play at all without being able to have children, something that SHOULD be in vanilla in the first place. PLEASE I BEG YOU UPDATE THIS MOD...

I have biotech and I personally wish some aspects of this was incorporated as well into biotech. I think the toddlers mod is a semi good compromise.

Not everyone can afford 30 bucks for biotech DLC.

(I did buy Biotech btw, but before biotech this mod gave me the joy of parenthood and I hope to see more people have that joy too)
