@Sibbo oh, it was still fun. There were some really cool areas, the emptiness I mentioned had more to do with me expecting to find more enemies in some of them at least. I'm looking forward to play the other maps.

@goodmojo Tanks for the feedback. You're right that the map feels empty. I am still learning, so in my new maps i try to add a lot more detail than i did in this map. Hope you still enjoyed playing :)

Interesting levels with some some nice areas. Feels a bit empty though, at least in Normal. I kept expecting more enemies and had too much ammo throughout most of it.

@MrRalphMan Nice, I'll watch the last 2 parts in a bit. Nice that you didn't seem to have too many issues. I had an Ai bug in an older version but it seems to be fixed now. Really nice to see that this didn't occur for you. I will see about the combine that got stuck on something at the last fight. Thanks for the videos :)

Absolutely loved this Mod, kept me interested till the end.

If there is one bit of constructive criticism is that one of the Combine seemed to get stuck in the last batter, everything else was vert polished.

Really enjoyed this to far, although I am spending far too much time exploring all the vehicles for any loot. :)

On the 1. of August I posted an update which finally fixed the "Ai disabled" bug. I asked multiple people to play it and no one had the issue, I just played the map again myself and I really tried to break it just to see if it was still there but It looks like it's no longer there. I had to remove some things from the map that I thought would cause this and at some point it just worked, idk. If you were waiting to play this map then im really sorry that I couldn't figure this out sooner, I really tried everything, asked around but I only found console commands which temporarily fix the issue. If anyone has this bug in their map I think setting down the max autosaves in the map preferences and only using one autosave entity per map can fix the issue but that's just what I assume that did it for me. I can't say for certain. If you still encounter this bug then idk what else to to, I hope that it's finally gone :steambored:

@CrypticHam69 I'm sorry this happened but I have no idea how to fix this. I put a lot of effort into this map just for a bad overall rating. It is my fault completely but i have reverted the map to older version where no one had this issue and i still get comments on how the map is broken. I will do my best to fix it but it seems impossible. I asked around and people helped me to find the issue. Skummeh posted a comment on a temporary fix and gave me a link to people that discussed a permanent fix. I still couldn't fix it. I also never had this issue myself so i can't even begin to imagine what is causing this. I will revert it to another version and i would appreciate if you could tell me if that works. Resistance Revenge 2 and Resistance Revenge 3 work so maybe you can play those if you want. I hope you still have fun playing any maps on the workshop, i will do my best to fix this issue :)

glitched and combine wouldn't spawn in. i tried everything but I can't progress in the story because of this glitch:steamthumbsdown:

Resistance Revenge part 2 loading map Wrong birth location,some time AI error.Re reading save AI is still wrong. Once AI disband, only have to start the game anew

@elektro-jeff Sorry that this happened to you too. I’m trying to come up with a solution but right now I can’t fix it since I’m on vacation. I hope that this doesn’t keep you from playing the maps. I really like your playstyle btw, I also love exploring every detail of someone’s map. I hid some resin and ammo in some places that you wouldn’t normally explore so I hope you find those. Skummehs fix should work temporarily but I will ofc fix this so that no one gets this issue once I’m back home. I hope you have fun playing :)

@sibbo Thanks for your hard work. I just started your Resistance trilogy. If it can help, I play maybe 30 minutes per day and save/reload every day sometime twice in a day. I'm super slow because I like to explore a little too much. Your 1h map will take be 3h because I wonder around everywhere. I encountered this problem for the first time with the Charger @24:08 of your playthrough video for Part 1 and after that every bad guy was frozen including head crabs zombies. A little later @30:02 that zombie was only a moving non-attacking vest.

I will apply @Skummeh's fix next time I play.

Just a reminder to everyone dealing with frozen Combine...

The fix is to open up the Console and type the following command:

AI_setenabled 1

Be sure you have -console -vconsole in your launch options to access the console in game. Quick procedure again:

Right-click Alyx in your Steam Library, go to Properties, and type the following in "Launch Options:" -console -vconsole

When you encounter the bug, pause the game, pull off headset, hit the ~ key, and then type in the following command and hit enter: ai_setenabled 1

Hit ~ again, put the headset back on, and you should be good to go. Commands are remembered indefinitely, so just press the up arrow on your keyboard to cycle through previously used commands. I hope this helps. Once you do it the first time, it's a piece of cake to do it again when needed and you'll find other maps with the same issue.

@Turbo I could never recreate or fix this issue, i see that a couple of people already reported this so i will ask some friends to play this map to see if they get this issue and if they can record it since i never saw this in a recording yet. I never experienced this on my or other maps and i would find it interesting if you experienced this before on other maps or what other addons you had active at the time of playing? Addons that change enemy behavior can cause this to happen too but then it would be on all the maps you play and not just mine. When im back from my vacation i will try everything to fix this and ask some other modders if they ever had this issue and if they know how to fix it. I will recompile my maps in case there was some kind of update to hl:a that made older mods have this issue but i can’t guarantee if that will fix it. I will try my best and I’m really sorry many of you are having such a bad time :(

@moncimoov i meant a save before that happened, not the earliest save. I’ve never heard of some 3d map? Idk what the problem is here. I guess just reload the map? I mean stuff like the enemy ai bugging out can happen sometimes in hl:a, especially when reloading saves. The rest is pretty weird to me, you don’t have to resubmit to the add on since the same map will be downloaded. I really hope that it will just work the next time you try. I will look into this issue and do my best to fix it but i tried that a couple of times and asked around, but this issue with the ai getting disabled is kinda weird and imo mostly unfixable since I’m pretty sure it has to do something with hl:a’s save system.

i did reload a save.. still the same..
had to un subscribe and sub again..
but when i start new game, suddenly all is black and there is a 3D map over my head..
its like im inside a debug 3D mode or something

@moncimoov Reload a save. This should not happen and I never saw that myself. Maybe restart your game and reload an old save, i hope you can still play the rest and that his didn’t ruin your experience

Aside from the AI Disabled bugs and the repetitive Combine fight music this is a pretty decent campaign.

I only use the addon needed to play the map. That IS weird that one variable controls both things, but clearly NOT for me! I will try your other maps in time. Thank you!

@drobertbaker Hm, I have checked on my pc and the saves worked for me. Maybe you have an addon that screws with the soldiers or something? I will try and replay some parts to break the map to see what the issue is. I hope that I can fix it to make it more enjoyable for you if you don't like to be in vr for a long time :). I guess that You mean the first forcefield in the garage. That scene has just one math_counter which disables both the forcefield and the music so it does not make sense to me how that could have happened. I think I might start playtesting again just for this update that I'm working on to see if I can fix this issue. I would find it interesting to see if you have this issue with some of my other maps (other than combine aftermath because that thing is still a bit buggy) because I'm pretty sure that they don't have this issue. Tell me if you would want to do that and if not that's fine too and I will try and fix it myself by trying to break my own map :steammocking:

The music stops when I kill (what seems to be) the last guy. If the field does not open, something thinks that it's not the last guy, right?

When you say "the AI stopped working", does that manifest as the bad guys not moving or shooting? Further to my story, when I got into Part 2 and the "AI was working", I played some more into Part 2, then went to bed. When I restarted Alyx and loaded my save, the baddies were all frozen again, even when I tried all the previous saves in Part 2. I save frequently and load only after my death. Your boys didn't kill me.

So I don't know how I can finish this without playing both Parts through in one session. I would have to play Part 1 up to the transition, save, come back, jump into Part 2, hope it was working, and then play Part 2 through in one session. A long haul in the helmet for something that may or may not work.

@drobertbaker Hm, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me what you did before the music stopped (if you reloaded a save file or something like that). I fixed the ai issue (when you reload a save the ai stopped working in the playtest version). Idk if that's something I don't know about yet but I never experienced it myself or saw that in someone's playthrough. I will look into it and see if I messed something up. In the update, I will make this into 1 map so I doubt that this issue will still be there since you said that it was after the level transition and I think that messed something up. I hope you still had fun and thanks for the review :)

The music stopped. I've tried it six times; twice it was OK, four times it stuck. When I went into Part 2, all the bad guys appeared, but they didn't move or shoot through the whole level. Because of the saving structure, nothing of Part 1 was saved, so I had to replay all of Part 1 and hope that Part 2 would then be OK. It was. Thanks again for your efforts. @drobertbaker Hi man. I’m sorry that you’re stuck. Did the music stop when you killed the last enemy? If not then one enemy is stuck in one of the hallways. You might need to restart that encounter once for it to work. Sometimes the ai can bug out. It happens very rarely but it happens so I’m sorry. I will try to improve it once I get to updating the map. Hope you enjoy the rest of the map :)

@Kako It is still coming but I am working on another map called Terminus right now so I couldn't finish it as fast as I thought. I did already finish making the overhaul of my first map "Escape the Apartment" but I never got to compile it... I promised somewhere that I will release the update this week so that's what I'm going to do. The other overhauls of my maps will follow after. I really appreciate that you are so interested and how you appreciate the maps I make. I do think that the criticism from people helps so I don't really mind getting negative feedback or the criticism that RS gave me since it just helps me improve my maps at the end of the day. @t850terminator Hi, I don't really know what you mean with square. Do you mean the intro or outro sequence? The AI can stop working but that's not really something I can't fix. In my playthroughs and the playtests the ai never stopped working. I also really like the fog and it doesn't really hinder performance but I think you can change that in the dev console and have no fog in the maps you play. I hope that you had fun with the rest of the map though. If I find out what was wrong with the ai then I will fix it asap but idk if I can. Anyways thanks for the feedback :)

Part 2 is kind of glitched, when I reloaded into the square, the AI stopped working.
Also could do with less fog effects, they don't add much but hinder performance

@RS thanks for the review :). I will try to fix all of those issues in my upcoming maps and I will eventually update this one as well. I did my best at the time and I'm sorry that you didn't like it too much. I'm excited to see what you think about Resistance Revenge 2 and the upcoming Resistance Revenge 3 or whatever I will call my next map. I will definitely try to make the maps prettier and also make them perform better in the future.

Map is for the most part "alright", but:

1. Far too many segments of too-little happening. The outdoors road segment and quite a big portion of the underground segments were way too long with too few enemies. I feel these sections could be cut short or have entrances introduced where enemies might spawn logically.

2. Some of the rooms & hallways weren't too "pretty" (flat walls and ceiling, odd decor) but that's a small issue and I wouldn't expect/demand too much on that regard.

I'd still like to try Resistance Revenge 2 eventually :)

I will fix this when I make a remake of this map but idk when that will be since making maps kinda got stale for me and I have a lot of other things to do but I will do it and I already worked on some of my maps remakes, just to give everyone an update who has been wondering... Anyways, thanks again, this really helps and I hope I can do better in my future maps :)

The two garage fights were very intense and enjoyable. I think the power cell and keycard hunting was hurting the pacing and felt rather tedious. Explosive zombie was a fun idea but I wish he had been used in a crowded room among other zombies.
