Ah, I found them.
Was stupidly looking in the wrong place, meaning I looked for them before a F2 race. And they are F1 settings.
Stupid me, but I'll leave this here in case others have the same problem.

Should not be :/ make sure that it actually says that you have subscribed and then check your steam downloads, if anything is available there. Restart the game also but by this time you should have done that already

Nope, unfortunately there's absolutely nothing there.
Tried the Refresh button, still nothing.
Is it possible to be blocked by Windows Defender?

You just have to get into the "load steam workshop car setup" menu. Once you have subscribed to it it should just show up in the list there and you can select them :) Once you have subcribed once you don't need to open "browse steam workshop" anymore ^^ You can also have a look on YouTube maybe :)

F1 for Session Info > Car Setup > F2 for Save/Load Car Setup > Load Steam Workshop car setup > F1 for Browse Steam Workshop ... and then? I found your setups I'm subscribed to, but can't load anything from there. I click on car images, are just .jpg files, can't see any download/upload button.

Hey, they are downloaded automatically once you subscribe. You can find them in the steam workshop section of your setups!
