The mod does not work anymore. you can get a Cataclyst but its just a tek Light you can switch on and off.
you do not get a buff from it

every new generations of dinosaur requires you to break the old catalyst and make a new one for it to apply to the new generations, now that's not that bad but pretty inconvenient.

the visible buff drops off after a minute or so but the actual buff stays on a little while, 10 or so minutes usually. lots of things reapply it with the item down and on like leaving and returning from rendering range, relogging, etc but i'd get used to just dropping it down every so often because it seems to apply the buff for inconsistent amounts of time on singleplayer at least, but overall it works just fine

when im using the catalyst i have to keep picking it up and placing it back down, is there anyway to make it last an infinite time

@schwinnTropius just in case anyone else is short of a full stack, you can cryo the dino to remove the buff and it drops off naturally after like 10 mins. if you're ok using this (biggest time saver in ark), then you're ok using Dino Storage anyway

I would love an in-game toggle for the mutation effect. There are plenty of times where I'm breeding for simply top stats of what I have or 0 stats in preparation for mutation breeding, and the only ways to disable the effect are restarting the server/single player or removing the mod entirely.

I somehow broke the mod, but don't really know how.
i bred some Thylas and cryopodded them sometimes to relocate them. Now they won't mutate even with the chance upped to 100% and refreshing the buff?
other dinos still work tho, just not the thylas

Ok so I have a question is there anyway to separate the adding of color mutations from stat mutations while still having a 100% mutation chance? I still want to keep my clean stats until I get finished then I'll color stats mutation them. I'm sp right now and I work a lot so don't have to many hours to sink into it. and I don't want my color mutations to mess up my counter

If at some point I uninstall the mod, will the already mutated dinos reset their stats? Or will they remain mutated?
In which file are the configurations made? Game.ini or GameUserSettings.ini?

2 Questions:
1.What INI do I put the thing in?
2.If I want to set my mutations to 0.5% at a constant rate so even after 20 mutations it stays the same? (precisely vanilla settings besides the fact that mutation rate is 0.5% and stays like that)

It's the simplicity that drew me in honestly, SP breeding is kinda mhe sometimes. If you end up fully leaving it, plz do note it in the description for reference. Although i doubt its going to break, considering Ark is sort of 'finished' atm.

When even a mutator is starting to get to tedius, this mod is great to help you move past it.
Not only reducing the tedium, but also the size of the breeding cell required, when used properly.

@Prox. Is there any way to apply the buff to new dinos without re-placing the structure?
E.x. Breed 2 dinos and want to breed the first with new one but they dont get the buff atm

@jarodleong08 no. The mod can be any order. you just need to copy and paste these INI settings into your GUS.

@jarodleong08 sorry for the late response. A lot of default values for game settings and mod settings aren't present in GSU unless changed. This is one of those examples. Add those values in and change them however you want. After a restart they'll take effect.

@mruae6 the mutation rolls are the number of times your baby tries for a mutation based on the mutation chance. So vanilla would be .025 (2.5%) chance and 3 rolls. you're effectively getting a 7.5% chance to hit a mutation at the vanilla rate assuming that both mom and dad aren't at or above 20 mutations. Also there is a chance to get double or triple mutations per breed because they're independent rolls. Personally I keep the rolls at 3, set the chance to .35 (35%) and set the points per mutation at 5. you still get a lot of single mutations and have a decent chance at double or triple mutations. it's super duper op compared to vanilla though. I'm on a solo PvE server with nerfed tamed dinos and wild dinos have x4 dmg and 150% resistance so I still need to work pretty hard at beating bosses and ♥♥♥♥.

Nevermind, I have confirmed that it _does_ work with dedicated server and _is_ compatible with Best Egg.

If the other parent has a higher value, best egg doesn't show the mutation. I set the mutation points to 100 for a test, and it is definitely working. :steamthumbsup:

Has anyone had any luck getting this working on a dedicated server? I put the settings in the Config\LinuxServer\GameUserSettings.ini and set the rate to 100%, but they're not happening.

Also, is this compatible with Best Egg?

@mruae6 I'm pretty sure that it's a general limitation of ark because it saves the data using a byte. exceeding the amount makes it roll over to 1

@mruae6 The buff goes away, but the change to the dinos chance to mutate offspring doesn't go to vanilla unless it gets cryo'd. you don't need to continuously pick up and place the catalyst.

Prox yeah it works now but there something about the catalsyt when you place it down it gives your dino a buff which is good but the buffs runs out even if you are in the arena of the catalsyt it runs out and you have to place another one which isnt very easy cause while breeding we need to leave them to keep on breeding it doesnt feel right to do it manually always picking it up and doing it over and over again

@mruae6 it's in your gameusersettings.ini file which can be in different places depending on if you play singleplayer, hosted, dedicated, etc. Can google its location based on how you play the game pretty easily

@Atlan67 The mod is kind've clunky currently because I suck at modding and don't have as much time as I would like to get everything working properly. I'm guessing what you need to do is just pick up 'The Catalyst' and put it back down so that the Argies get the buff. Once they have the buff they'll continue to use the INI mutation settings until they're cryo'd.

I have problems with mutations on Argentavis. The get no single mutation, and I followed your example on an GUS Ini entrance. With my Deinonychos it works.
