A very useful mod , that works flawlessly as described by the autor for me in 2025 along with 20 other mods .

To the users commenting that it's broken, note in the restriction section that some items (notably steel and higher) require you to have the appropriate Smithing perk to be able to smelt that tier of items down. This means you can always do leather, gold, silver, wooden, iron, and draugr stuff, but for steel, orcish, elven, ebony, etc, you need the appropriate perks.

ebony dagger, one set of specific fur armor, elven items,glass, forsworn, as well as any dlc items arent smeltable. everything else so far seems to work.

Noticed that the mod is not working in game so thought i had accidentally uninstalled the mod. Unfortunately not true - the mod is just broken :(

this is 99% broken/outdated somehow. used it tons in the past.
After some testing just now these items still work:
- all Iron items
- draugr items
- Jewelry
- Silver pots and pans, candle sticks..
- All items that give firewood, long bows, hunting bows, brooms & wooden bowls/plates
All hide/leather related items seem to work fine as well,
All other items like steel, dwarven, ebony and anything else is broken, using a new save with no other mods +all DLC

Ive notice that while running this mod i can no longer tan hide, i can only recycle armor.

Great mod and totally logical.. I've had it since pre-covid & its totally bug free so far..

IF one found an old iron axe.. one COULD melt it down into an Ingot. Well done

Hands down one of the best Quality-Of-Life improving mods. Turns "bleh! More useless loot..." into "Oooh! Gonna smelt that shit down and craft something noice!"

it seems that is still cannot smelt some of the dwemer/dwarven junk items anyone has a fix ?

That this is unusable for stolen items makes no sense at all. That would be major smartness. otherwise only mildly useful.

Does this need anything special to activate? It seems like i can't smelt anything.

Wish you change the Dragur armor back to steel. Just about every mod I use requires steel.

Some of the other dwarven relics can't be recycled. Like the gyros, most of the bowls, and some of the cogs and gears. Will they perhaps be added to the pool of items that can be broken down?

I like it when items in my games have meaning, even the junk.

Why can't you smelt stolen items? Isn't that like the first thing a thief would do with a stolen item they couldn't dump on the blackmarket?

Yes. It will work immediately even without the book. The book is delivered by courier and should be given as soon as you walk into a major city.

Does smelting 3 gold rings or 2 gold amulets WITHOUT gems produce gold ingots like the silver ones? I'm not sure if this question has been answered already, but it isn't listed in the nexus list.

This mod does not change the recipe for 1 ingot -> 40 rings, so there is another mod that is doing that for you.

Also, all Vanilla metals are included into the game. Make sure you have the correct Smithing Perk to smelt.

not shure that its this mod if not plese corect me 1 ingot= 40 rings rite and it tkes 3 rings to make one ingot also can you add more metals

After some tests it looks like many items at smithing losing their german names and fall back to their english ones. Items in Smelter stay in german.

<3 Great~! It is rare in now a day to have the mod's owner to still come around and improve their creation.
Most of them would just left and move on with their lives.

ATTENTION:

It's been over 2 years since I've made an update for this mod, but after seeing over 130,000 people are still using it with ~100 new visitors each day, I'll try and get an update out by the beginning of the summer. Sorry I haven't checked in for a while, but I appreciate the love in the comments.

Also: I will READ EVERY SINGLE COMMENT before releasing the next update, so all of your concerns/bugs/suggestions will be taken in account. Unfortunately I'm busy for the next few weeks, so nothing new until May.

i adore this mod: are you ever going to put in the quicksilver smelting? I really hope so. it's so annoyingly rare, as a material. hope you can find time to update it for us all to enjoy :)

Anyway, ahem.
At that time i had 183 steel arrows, and the smelting require 30. I have more than enough steel arrow from enemy, i can go fetch more arrows anytime. But it annoying me that I can't craft what the mod said i could do.

You sir or madam are a genius, this concept and excecution easily makes this one of the best utility mods i've ever seen. please keep doing this for the benefit of Elder Scrolls players everywhere.

i can't smelt the steel arrows, it said in description.
