Biotech makes more sense and allows them to have Hussars and Impids living among them (No neandertalls though, sadly!)

The biotech shek use vanilla human textures. Hivers other than the queen cannot reproduce. Skeletons can’t reproduce either.

Also can the hivers have kids? (I'd assume no cause queen) What about Skeletons? (i'd assume no cause robot, but dunno how rimworld engine considers them)
I got this Shek kid through a "wanderer wants to join" event, not natural birth, hench the question.

@Xeonzs I actually forgot to add the kid texture, I'll add that but I do suggest switching over to the Biotech version if you can as this one will be soft-abandoned in future updates.

Im not sure if this still works in the current version, started a save recently but i have a ton of mods. maybe some other interaction has made the shek mod incompatible too?

This mod doesn't seem fully compatible with EPOE, Shek with bionic eyes lack the proper offsets facing south. the eyes being directly in the middle of the face

The races that can be worked into relying on the DLC completely will be forked to use Biotech. Currently working on a update/overhaul for the shek.

As long as its not worked into in game race system its going to cause issues.
Right now Sheks can be any of the base games races.....They appear no matter the race you gave selected for the pawn. Tynan gave you the tools just use em ma dude.

@Seti If you have ideology they will more than likely be aggressive towards you, but they should not be permanent enemies, and can be allied with eventually.

Just an update on that I think it was actually just that the Shek didn't have a partner? In this new colony a human woman had a Shek kid and it worked alright.
For the second failed pregnancy I set it to adult and that still didn't work so it must have just been due to artificial pregnancy. I think anyway...

Is this mod compatible with babies and children? I had a Shek pregnant and when she finally gave birth...nothing showed up. They're set to come out at 14 too so not sure what happened.

At the time I was on another map doing a Witcher contract not sure if being on another map could have interfered somehow.

For the time being, anyone running into the same issue 'A Red Pupper' and myself have encountered can fix it by going into the "ShekFactionsBasic" XML file and removing the line

<classicideo>true<classicideo>

For me, the file was located here.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\2526308637\1.3\Defs\Faction Defs

It might just be our other mods conflicting with that line, so YMMV.

Hey! So I had a weird error when using mods that added new precepts and memes. The Shek ideo was reduced to only being able to select collectivist or individualist, but did have supremacist automatically selected, though this caused an exception on game start-up as I don't think it was supposed to be available.

I checked through the file and found this line

<classicIdeo>true</classicIdeo>

and after I removed that it seemed to fix the error and I had free reign of all the allowed memes.

I'm not sure what that line does, but I think it tries to force the faction to use the restricted classic ideology you can select when creating a new colony? That's my guess anyway, so it'd probably be safe to remove it. If it's important ignore me, I just figured I'd make a comment in case anyone else is having a similar issue

yeah, it was actually an error in one of my save files; a TaleDef that got corrupted. completely unrelated, sorry for wasting your time. was desperate at that moment.

@mayonnaise I've been trying to figure this out, but I cannot seem to recreate the error, do you have any other mods? It may be a conflict.
