I got this error in our server today. Server crashed shortly after:

Sound level is set in the lua file and is affected by distance away from the center of the blast, there is no current way to modify this ingame.

How can I turn down the sound? Editing the files and putting them back in OBC/Sound doesn't do a thing.

I noticed that happens when you are really far away from the beam, it seems to be an issue with how sound is handled in the Source Engine and cannot be fixed.

hey man, on my ttt server when the bass drops there is no noise. The same happens with everyone else. Do you know why this is? How can I fix it?

@PixelatedSand, it is possible to change the sounds, they are in "\sound\obc". Place whatever custom sounds you would like in the folder and rename them to replace the other files.

Man kann wenn man die Orbital Basscannon rauswirft und einsammelt 1 weiteres mal Schiessen. Das so lange wie der Erste Strahl da ist, den dann verschwindet ja die Waffe aus dem Inventar. Währe schön wenn man das Fixen könnte.

Currently this addon does not cause any script errors, I have only ever seen an error when a client holding the bass cannon disconnects while the bass cannon is still dropping. And of course since that is rare and not intended, it is also not really fixable. But in reality that means this addon is error free.

I suggest you reinstall the addon, and/or check on a fresh server with no other addons. Because on the latest version of Gmod on our server, this works flawless with no errors.

My apologies, I had to nerf this. I had to remove the prop kill in the wave, it was causing crashing on big servers. But I am currently working on increasing the beam radius to balance it better.

Sadly on TTT all items cost 1 credit, I am not aware of any option to change that. There may be an addon that can change the costs, but I have not seen one either.

Would be great if people would link my original post for this gun.

This gun was never finished and was being custom coded for the Devolved Server as part of a custom point shop item..

@Everyone
Finally fixed the sound glitch, sorry it took so long(was very busy).
Now sadly I did have to reset the sound distance back to its default value, and I cannot increase it currently(increasing it breaks the sound volume). If I can find a solution to that I will, but otherwise the sound distance will stay the same.

So in this update the bass cannon CANNOT be fired multiple times by one person, this should COMPLETELY remove any chance of it glitching and staying all round. Also the charging indicator SHOULD still work, but it may instead just deplete(which is fine IMO, it makes sense).

Thank you everyone for being patient with me on this, and hopefully we can continue to enjoy this addon together with no more bugs!

Progress has been made, I have managed to fix both the lua error AND the beam not dissapearing glitch. I am having a glitch(may just be my client) now that the sound of the drop isn't playing. I'll comment again once I have fixed that!

I'm working on it right now as we speak, I have fixed the bug happening now. However I was entirely able to replicate the bug with beams not dissapearing, and its worse than it looked at first.

Well now it comes up with the addon is creating errors and it doesn't appear on the T buy menu :/

Alright everyone I just released an update attempting to fix two issues that you have told me about.

1. Laser not dissapearing glitch:
I have added a patch to the code that should force the cleanup process to run 3 times instead of just once, hopefully that will allow all clients to recieve the cleanup command after the beam dies.

2. Sound not being heard across entire map:
I have gone through the code where it plays the sound, and it was not set to maximum range.
I have increased the sound to maximum range and increased the volume slightly(sorry I had to).

Hopefully this fixes those issues. Please let me know if it doesn't, and/or if there is another glitch now.

Also about the sandbox addon:
I have not forgotten about doing this, I have not had a chance to add it. I will work on it soon(maybe within a week) and hopefully it will work without glitches.
