Is this mod compatible with the current game build or is there an alternative mod that exists?

I would love to have this feature so I don't accidentally die for nothing without truly knowing if I'm infected or not but the last comment was from July 2023 and they said it didn't work.

@Felkami intrestingly, on the radio in project zomboid, it does actually mention that the millatry could test you for the virus/bacteria/prion or whatever the knox infection actually is.

Just wanted to point out that the mod is working fine for me on the latest build and I am using Mod Manager, along with a ton of other mods. The recipe appears normally for me, I used it, and everything worked as intended.

Which makes 5circlesoffun's issue even more confusing to me.

@pocket egg Try without mod manager? If that doesn't do it you might want to force a reload of the mod--maybe its corrupted o your hard drive?

running it on singleplayer build 41.77.7, ran alongside "Mod Manager" but that doesn't affect gameplay in anyway and recipe isn't there, new world and everything

@pocket egg. I don't know. It works perfectly fine on mine in singleplayer. The mod is very basic, at the least the recipe should be there. Are you doing all this in an already existing world? If you create a new world with just this mod in it, is the recipe there?

I've ran this mod with nothing else, recipe isn't there, ran in sp and still nothing
ive gotten the proper ingredients and still nothing, checked the mods in the main menu and your mod isn't having any errors, so I have no idea what's going on

@Pocket Egg. Its working for me on current stable. Do you have any mods? Are you using a bottle of disenfectant and a rag or sterilized rag? Dirty rag is the output, not part of the recipe.

For anyone who says this cannot be crafted, are you using ripped sheets or sterilized rags? Keep in mind that a dirty rag is the *product* not a *component* Also, see if any of your mods replace the ripped sheet or sterilized rag items.

@Alu - Your character says the result after you do the recipe. When they say, "Whew, I'm not infectected" that means you're not infected.

Do I have to bandage myself with the rag?
Or is it a crafting work?
I have prepared 1 ripped sheet with desinfectant and have it in my menu.
I see no further option choices when I right click on the crafted item.

that's too bad. can we already use the sterilised rag to test though? maybe just adding the function instead of replacing could please both crowds.
(i haven't been able to test it yet, as there's a mod that's breaking the game and i can't load into it lol - still 50/50-ing to see which one it is)

Other users may be used to mechanic, and the tweak doesn't add sufficient value to the mod to warrant changing it on them. I don't feel it'd be appropriate to make that change.

@Fuyono Its just a recipe mod. Thinking back on it I probably should have made it work with just sterilized rags. In cannon, you probably sterilize the rag before doing the test.

@SmearierGold7. It has no mechanical change except letting you know absolutely if your infected. For a lot of veteran players they can gauge this just from the moodles. I like knowing things absolutely though.

I tried this out recently to see if my character was infected. The mod worked well. Though I don't know if it affects the game in any way or not.
