I understand the desire to fully activate the map, but it would really be a lot of work. I have refrained from doing so until now because I was afraid that it would make the map too complex if everything were active right away. When I designed the map, there was no wear and tear on the buildings, so it was originally conceived differently...


Since I'm working on a new map (in which everything will be activated), I probably won't bother to activate the map completely.

Central city is working. Other towns and villages are not awaken. Updated version with all of them awoke would be nice though as you have limited time till they fall apart and zero infrastructure in place.

I did not expect this map to have been updated. This is awesome, I remember playing on it many years ago. I'll give it another shot with Early Start DLC installed. Thanks for updating it.

I have uploaded an update. Unfortunately, it remains a bit complicated because two of the reupload packages of Norch's old town houses have errors. You can find out how to fix the more serious of the two in the Changelog-notes.


Or you can leave out the hotels, kindergartens and restaurants, the map is still playable.

I have the same issue as Muminov. I tried the manual download and the reupload on the workshop. Everything else is subscribed to. It is indeed some full blocks in font of the factories and some buildings spread out in the old town.

Listen, I know that it's the whole point of the "rebuilding after a war" thing, and I know it may have been requested, but PLEASE just make it so the embarkments are all normal and pre-fixed. Because holy crap, the game's terraforming sucks (even in the cheat mode), and I can't fix the ground to put any embankments properly. There's no way to link them up the right way, and I can't stand looking at that any longer

I made some changes regarding the missing buildings. Maybee you give a new try. If again not all buildings have been loaded, you can still load the map and see where the buildings are missing. If it's the Old Downtown buildings, it should be most noticeable in the neighborhood in front of the big clothing factory.

Then I have to rebuild everything again.

I took the name from the original map. I don't know why they were named that way by KArantukki, but since the structure of the cities was designed by him, I didn't want to change the names

Hello, I was wondering what the significance of the naming of this region. Is Osterburg a historical name? This is based on Konigsberg right? it makes sense to rename it but why not to Kalliningrad? Really pretty map + builds btw :)

About the missing workshop buildings: The modder Norch has unfortunately withdrawn most of his workshop contributions until further notice, because someone reported them to Steam because he didn't like the way he asked for donations for his work. He has announced that he will revise them and then make them available again. I hope the problem will be solved quickly. Until then you can download the mods thanks to Stele via his downlink. Not all buildings are needed for the map.

Pack below or more limited one in feedback thread should contain buildings removed from the workshop. If anything else is missing and you can't find IDs, show in game location of them and I'll try to pack them up.

I changed the water pipes, there was a bottleneck there.
It should now better cover the demand, even if scarce.

The pump can absolutely handle two heat substations as long as it also has two pipes supplying it from the plant. The water situation is critical in the beginning, personally I fixed it by disabling realistic mode and just building another one for rubels, but I understand that’s not for everyone.

So first few months are rush to get second purification plant and pipes going while half of town is dieing from thirst that lead to lines to shops and starvation, so you had to get several cheap grocery stalls at the same time to mitigate. After that I was in the green by summer. But when winter came, it was -1.5k pops/month. By spring I'd end up with ghosttown. So I went with tweaking old town service buildings to not require heating but it broke the save. Heating is gone, but so is water connection. I have to start new game for them to work. Third try the charm they say...
Heating pump creates bottleneck. While plant can handle 1000m^3, pump only 300. You can't plug two large outputs to it no matter how many large imputs are there. If only I'd notice this setup earlier.

What was my joy when free giant coal freighter appeared from the sea. I desided to buy western clothes and meat for now, selling them electricity when ship will arrive and repairing factories first. Also water network feels insufficient. I might need second purification plant. First one is limited by workers productivity I think. Anyway there is not enough water in the system.

Osterhausen worked if connected by bridge. At first I tried normal track that game allowed. So issue was on this side of monitor. For garbage, I just closed up school and got no collision trash stands to help a bit. So far so good. I found a bit more rail stock and that connection to western town is intact. I feel like priority should be rail connection to port warehouse to enable bulk grain transfer.
After calculating everything in spreadsheet, only food and southern most chemical plants are profitable. The rest requires renovation first or will just burn resources on 90% waste, so I started with fabric. Building first as it's close to collapse. It's great that game allows you to set starting wear level creating such scenerios.

Second part:
In my last game, I started relatively late with the chemical industry. This must be supplied via the railway tracks. The large chemical plant, which produces chemicals from gravel, coal and electrical components, is the most suitable.
I haven't played the map in realistic mode yet. Of course, everything takes longer there. And actually, because the tracks can only be demolished by an RCO, I've already deleted quite a few of the small pieces of track. Feel free to take a screenshot of places where there are still too many. The collapsed bridges are accessible, but tracks have to be built next to the collapsed sections first. But that actually works.

I'll have a look at the school.

Can you send me a screenshot of the situation at Osterhausen main station? But if I assume correctly, you will have to create this connection yourself.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, I'm playing on a relatively old version of my map and haven't really been able to test the latest version.
On survival:
In principle, it is a good idea to connect the port relatively quickly and repair the gaps in the rail network. Then import coal and wheat to produce the most important basic goods yourself and export the surplus of clothing and food. If the shipping route to NATO is still blocked by the bridge, this can also be done by truck at the beginning. You can control the balance between food and clothing via the streetcar stations: 99% to the food factory and the rest to the fabric and clothing production. You can also reduce the workers in the factories.

I noticed two issues already. North-west track isn't connected to Osterhausen Bhf. Drawing rails there worked but I can't select them now or asign to rco.
School in new town on the west bank is out of range of trash dump and garbage there is piling up like crazy. I'm trying to remove fence on their backyard and put stand there but it takes time.

Is there a way to clean up disconnected rail bits in bomb craters and fallen bridges on realistic? Rails can only be removed by rco, right?

After few hours of initial setup, I started the map. Let's hope it works somehow and I'll not end in death spiral. For now I already messed up not noticing tram stop next to food factory. any tips how to get going? Food will probably not be enough for existing population. Clothing is always good bet but they share grain storage so it's dangerous. From chemical combinat, only the southest one has inputs ready but conversion rate doesn't feel profitable at all. They can't produce enough for clothing and water purification as it is.

Die Anordnung der Grenzen ist ein Überbleibsel aus der Zeit, als diese noch nicht verändert werden konnten. Warum auch immer war die NATO Grenze immer im Norden und Osten. Vielleicht war das ein Bug, vielleicht war es um zu betonen, dass das Ganze ein Spiel ist. Die Karte, auch wenn sie die Bucht von Kaliningrad darstellt, ist eine Fiktion. Deswegen und weil eine Warschauer Pakt Grenze nahe Osterburg das Szenario meiner Karte sehr vereinfachen würde, hab ich die Grenzen ungefähr in der ursprünglichen Anordnung gelassen.
Im CHEat- Modus (CHE gleichzeitig drücken) kannst du den Landschafts-Editor Modus einschalten und die Grenzen verändern, falls dir das lieber ist.

Eine wunderschöne Karte! Ich habe aber die Logik in den Grenzen nicht ganz verstanden. Warum liegen die so schön ausgestattete NATO-Grenzen im Osten? Oder ist das nach dem Lore eine Welt, in der die sozialistischen Länder im Westen liegen und östlich von Preußen das kapitalistische Russland oder die baltischen Staaten liegen?

I made some progress, but it´s really much to change. Sometime the mods are a big problem, some need changes (need footpaths for example) I will make an update soon, but it will not be really compatible with realisitc mode. Maybe it is impossible.

Ich hoffe noch auf die nächste Spiel-Version. Hier soll es neue schicke Vanilla-Zäune und Mauern geben und die alle zu erreichen und zu renovieren ist ja im Moment das Hauptproblem. Wenn die gut aussehen werde ich versuchen möglichst viele davon zu ersetzen.

Bezüglich des Skripts: Ich weiß es nicht genau, aber ich würde in Frage stellen, dass das funktioniert. Wenn ich meine Mods so ändere, ändern sich ja nicht die Mods bei den Leuten die die Karte und die zugehörigen Mods runter laden. Die Leute laden die ja nicht von mir, sondern von Steam. Wenn dann käme diese Änderung auch nur für einige Monumente wie Mauern und Embankments in Frage. Alle Mod-Monumente so zu ändern, wäre mir zu krass.
Aber vielleicht stellst du den Link und die Anleitung hier zur Verfügung, dann können das alle selbst bei sich machen, wenn sie hart davon genervt sind und trotzdem die Maintance-Mechanik mögen. Mir persönlich würde ja schon die Möglichkeit reichen einige wenige Mauern manuell zu ändern.

schön das dir meine Karte gefällt.
Ich mag das Mod für das Stromnetz von Shotkey auch sehr, aber ich denke die wenigen Stromleitungen auf der Karte sind nicht derart prägend, dass es sich lohnt die Liste der Mods noch länger zu machen als sie eh schon ist.

Für das Problem mit der Wartung gibt es vom Modder Lex713 ein Skript auf github das automatisiert alle Monumente so ändert, dass sie keine Wartung mehr benötigen und kostenlos zu bauen sind. Allerdings entfernt dieses Skript auch die Loyalitätseffekte, was sich aber leicht abändern lässt. Natürlich ist auch das keine optimale Lösung, angesichts der vielen Mods die sonst im realistischen Modus völlig unbrauchbar wären für mich aber die beste. Wenn du willst kann ich einen Link zu diesem Skript und eine Anleitung zur Verfügung stellen.

Nochmal vielen Dank für die tolle Arbeit, ich werde bald ein neues Savegame mit dieser Karte starten und freue mich jetzt schon darauf!

Nach einiger Zeit und gut 300 Stunden Spielzeit auf einer älteren Version der Karte dachte ich, ich muss hier mal wieder reinschauen und was soll man sagen, die Karte ist einfach nochmal viel besser geworden, als sie sowieso schon war.

2 Ideen hätte ich noch:
Es gibt vom Modder Shotkey ein tolles Paket an Gebäuden für die realistischere Gestaltung des Stromnetz. Mit diesen Gebäuden wird jede Umspannstation und jeder Wechsel von Luft- zu Bodenleitung nochmal ein eigener Hingucker. Vielleicht wäre das ja noch eine gute Ergänzung.

Hello Anok, WOW!! This Map is outstandingly beautiful. You put a lot of effort and good work in it.
You should have a Discord Server where we could talk about the map and post screenshot and have conversation about what we are doing with it.
I'm playing this game for years now and I love to Build as Realistic I can.
I started to build on your map a Military base in Osterhausen which will have the mission to rebuild the city. After that the military operation will slow down leaving space to the Civil re-bild of the whole Region.

Thank you for this Map.
This is exactly what I was looking for for long time.

Danke für das Lob. Es war ein Haufen Arbeit, ich kann es nicht sagen wie viel Zeit ich da rein gesteckt hab. Mehrere 100 Stunden insgesamt , inklusive der Versuche ob sie spielbar ist, bestimmt. Ich bin auch noch nicht fertig. Es wird noch mehrere Updates geben, vor allem wenn noch so viele tolle Mods auftauchen, wie die von Quicklebendig.

Sieht sehr gut aus, habe mit der selben Map mal was ähnliches versucht da mir die ganze Karte voller Planstädte zu unrealistisch erschien. Bin dann aber durch die bevorstehenden Updates entmutigt worden weiterzumachen. Werde nach dem nächsten Update hier auf jeden Fall mal reinschauen! Rein aus Interesse, wie lange hast du dafür gebraucht?
